Thanks for all the great feedback & questions folks - keep them coming.

Yes!
Well done!

Since it isn't yet confirmed that we will be able to import DAO/DA2 saves into the Keep, this question cannot be answered yet. I suppose it's very difficult with the different engines at all.KR4U55 wrote...

Thus, I'd like to phrase the question differently: will we be able to use the Keep to recreate the faces of our Hawkes and Wardens at least approximately with the character creator of the new engine?
(I suspect the answer is no, since the Keep appears designed to be independent from game engines, so recreating visual styles will not be a feature, except if they find a way to standardize face coding that can be expected to survive a few years)
It's been said in this topic that the front-end was built by the Bioware web team, and that it uses HTML5, so seems most likely that it's website-only (right now anyway). Of course that doesn't rule out a face generator, but seems less likely unless you can import a DAO/DA2 save.LanceSolous13 wrote...
Unless I misunderstood something, Dragon Keep could very well be a program rather than specifically the website.
There are mods for the hair. Much worse is the fact that you can't shape the mouth in DA2 (maybe it was the same in DAO, I don't recall, but if so, there were enough different presets that it didn't bother me overmuch), and that you couldn't make women with narrow cheeks (again, in DA2, the cheeks slider was bugged).LanceSolous13 wrote...
If they do that, I really hope they give us PLEANTY of options for hair, eyes, mouth, and etc. Nothing bugs me more than when random NPCs have the exact same 'x' as my character. I have this issue more with Origins where the Hair Options were incredibly limited.

The ME games did well with different mouth shapes. There's no reason why DA couldn't use a similar system. In Exile wrote...

You could shape the mouth in DA:O. I imagine you can't in DA2 because it messes up the lip synch.

Mentioning mods is pointless, and I say this as a PC player and mod user. Not only are console players the majority, but much has been made of the modding limitations of the Frostbite engine, so I doubt that even PC users will enjoy the same mods as they did with the previous two games, if there are any at all.Ieldra2 wrote...

They have basically the same restrictions. The options for mouth shape in DAO are: mouth height, lip size (fullness), mouth width, and over/underbite. DA2 has the same options minus the mouth width. In Exile wrote...

So I'll have to connect to the internet every time I want to start a new game?
There's a good chance that that may be the case. Would ultimately depend on how we end up delivering it, things like feedback and so forth.
Ugh. <_<
This irks me a bit too - but if we can create world states that act as a new game save game file, i'm hoping I can load up all my characters in one hit - and no need to access the keep again after that.
While I absolutely ****ing hate the idea of having to connect my game to the internet for my decisions to carry over what really gets to me is the total first-worldness of this decision. Internet is not universal. It is not a basic human right. You actually do get oodles and oodles of people who can afford to buy games but not afford an internet connection. Decisions like this just smack of presumed privelige "Why is this such a big deal? Who doesn't have an internet connection these days?"
Don't preach inclusivity on one hand and exclude people on the other. Selective inclusivty is not a thing.
I was wondering about this. Then I thought, "Well, if they don't have internet, they won't be able to come here and complain!" Yet somehow it magically happens.

As a console gamer without a home internet connection, I take it this means I have to abandon hope of importing my world state even if I play DAI on the same format as the previous 2 games...
