Can you see the keep forums?

Anyway all I can say is that they say tosend an email to onlinecommunity @ bioware.com (without the space) and tell them the problem

I can't even see the forums, no. I'll send them an e-mail though, thanks. I sent the DA: Keep twitter a couple of tweets but I haven't gotten a response yet so I'll keep looking there as well.

Shout out for those trying to access or use DK with a Dial Up connection, Sorry not going to work. I should know I have already tried. No Dice.

Keep wont SYNC. Keeps on saying OOPS we are experience problems & kicks me back out to the Keep Main Page.

Bioware contacted me & told me they did Tests Speeds with Dial Up connections & said Keep would not SYNC.

Said I would have to go to my Relatives when I do my DELUXE DLC cause of my Relatives having faster connections. So now I have to take both my Laptop & my Playstation 3 when I go to do my DELUXE so I guess now I will have to do everything all together now.

I guess I will do the Keep 1st on my Laptop when I get there, then I will Boot Up my PS3 & do the DLC Codes that come with my Inquisition.

Then I will begin Inquisition & Upload the Keep once Inquisition is installed on my PS3.

Looks Like I have to do things the LONG WAY AROUND. Being the more Aggervating ROUTE.

This is why DK Needs to be on a Physical DISK then it could be Updated via PSN or XBL.

So there you go you people saying Dial Up works on KEEP - WRONG IT DOESNT.

Your making it sound like having to load up the keep on a laptop then playing the game is such a chore. Keep is optional dude.

it could also be down to the fact... SYNCING IS DOWN... and has been for a while now. it even tells you on the top of the page in the keep that syncing is down.

Also, not a long way round, its the same way everyone has to use the keep, which is optional.

And finally If you are a tester for the keep, post in the keep forum.

Guys I have a qustion.

The Keep doesn't import choices at all. Everyone has to set their choices manually in the Keep.

No, because there is no importing of saves. If you're just trying to sync your character, syncing is down.

So please tell me if I am wrong. In Dragon Age Keep you have to answer on a lot of question about your game (DA I and DA II) without any help. You have to remember all your choices but some people wrote that they cannot sync their characters. So my question is, what for we can sync our characters?

Syncing is only there to get your achievements to show up plus character name, class, origin (commoner, noble, etc), gender and image file of your character on BSN.

Make full use of the Dragon Age wiki too. It's very accurate and goes into detail on all possible choices for each quest.

I was a bit worried about that at first also, but i found that once i got into the Keep and started to use it i was able to remember most if not all of the quests and their outcomes. And as Kantr says, for those you cannot remember the Wiki is an awesome site to check out.

I wonder if this maintenance means the all powerful Justin is going to have to change his catch phrase from "synching is down"

I just hope Bioware decide to make them importable into the game from offline, it would suck to not be able to start a new game (unless i go clean save) if i can't connect to the internet for whatever reason.

If you can't connect to the Internet for whatever reason you also wouldn't be able to get a clean world state for a new game. At some point you will need to be able to connect to the Internet be it for a downloadable Keep (this will likely never happen) or to download a world state (I can't see that happening either with the Keep not generating an actual save file).

The idea of offline world states or an offline Keep is completely counter to the reason the Keep exists, to diminish the amount of bugs with save files, the extra long pipeline to fix bugs with an offline Keep and the issue of having to create the Keep for multiple platforms instead of just one with HTML 5.

Are you seriously telling me you can't start a new game unless you have a working internet connection? That would be very dumb. Being able to start a new game with the default DAI world should be a given.

Glad to hear that, was worried for a sec.

It doesn't, at all. The Keep was created to establish a pre-existent game world, based on the decisions of the previous games (basically what me3 did, but with a save state instead). So by saving a file offline hardly counter the usefulness of the keep, since you have to use the keep in the first place anyway. What you gain is that if you don't have internet for whatever reason you cannot load a game state, which is a bit stupid imho. The game load the file from somewhere for it to work, so just making it available offline (please Bioware) should be hardly a problem and definitely it wouldn't create bugs.

The keep is to record everything you did. The game is set up only to see the keep not an offline file. Although perhaps offline can be achieved by other people's save files.

There is a in-game default world state that will be a pre-fab. Keep is for you to customize a world for yourself. You don't need a connection for the INGAME PREFAB default states, but you will need a internet connection to go to the keep, to create a world, which will then be connected to your BSN account, AND THEN, when you logged in to a internet connected game (like PS4, XBOX, PC) and you log into EA from there, the world state from the Keep that sync'd to your account will then UPLOAD to the game. You can then disconnect your account, and your world will be 5ever in there for all other new starts if you choose to keep it.

You can do this from a tablet, from a phone, from a pc, from the browsers in your XBOX/PS4/PS3 etc.

But that offline save file wouldn't ever be updated if/when the Keep updates the choices available.  The pro for requiring internet access is that there is zero chance someone has a bad import due to faulty information.

The only people that could use an offline version of the Keep would be those on the PC(due to proprietary issues with Sony and Microsoft), and anyone playing the game on the PC would be using Origin(which would require an internet connection for your first attempt to play the game anyway).  If your internet connection isn't stable enough to be connected to the Keep for all of the 5 minutes it'd take to start the game, click new game, and select the uploaded Keep state, it's not Bioware's fault...  I fail to see why people continue to complain about this.

While your premise is nice and would be kind of cool. There clearly would be problems, check out the problems  from save game states transferred from DAO to DAA to DA2. Bugs everywhere. Plus you also run into the issue of Sony and Microsoft, They do not like companies sending files via their network with out being paid. Also they do not like companies messing around with the file systems on their hardware. You would probably have less issues on PC but that doesn't justify an offline Keep.

According to Justin the response time is 40ms, but presumably they have a very good internet connection at their offices.
