Let me add to those piling ridicule on the above assertions. The poster has no idea at all what the reasons were that this would not be possible. And has obviously never developed a game, much less a follow-on game, in her/his life (and I seriously doubt if s/he's ever ever coded a working program.)
There were reasons this wasn't going to be possible in DA:I just because of the problems already created in going from DAO to DA2, (previous choices not accurately reflected, or even saved. etc.) So going into the NextGen game (not to mention NextGen platforms) with "direct save imports" was already impossible.
Sheesh... How many times do BioWare (or the players in the Forums) have to explain this?!?
Hell, weren't there problems just going from DAO to Awakening? If I recall, if you imported a save game wherein your warden made the ultimate sacrifice, your warden just popped up, alive and well, regardless. Mass Effect's save import had a ton of bugs as well - some of which you had to manually edit the save (even on xbox) to fix.
I've been playing around with the Keep beta. It's awesome. It's entertaining in and of itself, beyond being a great way to move save states across generations.
