What is cloud keep? You have to be online all the time to access the game and keep?
The idea is that you can import the game state that is saved in the Keep to any platform and you don't have to worry over corrupted saved games, missing saves, bad choices, etc, because it's available from anywhere and you can customize it as you wish. The blog post has a pretty decent description of it (linked in the first post of this thread).
Without a cloud-based solution, it'd be hard to allow cross-platform usage of game states.

I think a lot of the internet-wary types might be comforted if they allowed you the option to export your save file so you can throw it on a thumb drive.

And can it edit/create console saves?
If so, could you transfer a save from a PC/Console and import it onto another platform?

Is this about editing already exist imports or can we create one from scratch if we want to jump platform?

1) Both - the plan is for you to be able to edit your existing saves or also starting a brand new set of worldstates.
2) It has been stated to be able to work with consoles.
3) In theory, the imported choices will exist in the cloud, where you will be able to link Online and load them up as you start each new game up. There is no known plans currently to have a file that can be saved and trance free/moved outside of Cloud storage.

So what you are saying is that you can save the keep's settings online to avoid problems on your pc? I never had any problems so I have no need for such feature.
No, not that you can. That you MUST.

Is this confirmed?

It is what both Allan and Joe said in this thread the first day - that you would need to connect to the Internet to start a new game if you wanted to import any world states other than the default. That's how it works as of right now, but I guess we'll see how things may change or develop down the line.

The description seems to imply it will fix the weirdness where Zevran was killed in DA:O, then showed up regardless in DA2. I wonder if it will do the same for Leliana, or if I'll just be stuck with the "Your choices only matter if they agree with what Gaider wants" philosophy.

But this argument has been had over and over, so never mind. What about Zevran and Wynne?
edit:
In fact, is there a list anywhere of which player choices we're allowed to keep, and which ones get randomly retconned? I haven't kept up with the dev comments since completing DA2 a couple of times, so I don't know what has been thrown out for no reason, and what gets to stay. It'd be nice to know which choices are completely irrelevant when playing the games again.
I have a Warden than made the ultimate sacrifice, and another which did the ritual with Morrigan and became joint ruler of Ferelden alongside Anora, before saving Vigil's Keep then following his romanced Morrigan through a portal. In the first, Alistair became king. In the second, he became a roaming drunk. In the first, my companions were all pretty happy. In the second, Leliana, Zevran and Wynne all died.
Does any of this matter? Has any of it been thrown out? What's the official party line? Warden did the ritual, Alistair became King, Morrigan went through the portal on her own, the companions all survived and did whatever - all other choices are "wrong"? Is there an official canon for what happens to Anders at the end of DA2, or do we get to keep that decision?
edit 2: Yep, rereading this it sounds like a drunken angry rant, but I assure you it isn't.

Though we know that Bioware said that other than Leliana, there shouldn't be any character that you killed returning alive. This was stated months ago.

@Starscream: there isn't any list yet. We might see something during the beta that we'll start early next year.

Thanks. I wasn't on these forums months ago - at least, not the DA section. Not since I finished with DA2.
Have they stated a preferred canon for what happened to the Warden? I just saw a post in another topic which said they've erased Witch Hunt from canon, which is annoying if true.
I've just been going through my DAO and DA2 character saves trying to sort out who did what in preparation for the Keep (in case we can't import directly) - I made a post in the DA2 forum about that, and could use some help - but if certain things are predetermined then I needn't bother.

There isn't a canon for DA, only a default for the people who don't want to use the keep/import in the case it'll be possibile .

The Keep is going too be required if you want to import your saves, and you're not going to like the default import. It's specifically designed to leave as few loose ends as possible, because new players don't care about people they never met. AFAIK, the Warden was a female Dalish elf who made the Ultimate Sacrifice, the DR never went down and Hawke was a mage who sided with the mages.Starscream723 wrote...
