You're the Seeker, you tell me.
No, seriously, what IGN article?
Can't tell you really. I fell victim to the Wizard's First Rule.

Everybody does from time to time.

It is really strangely worded.

That's funny. I always get a banner on top that reads "The Keep does not import your saved game." Guess IGN must've missed it.

The Dragon Age Keep has you sign in with Origin, and then it uses that to detect the choices you've made across the two previous games.

I'm really happy we finally get to play around with the Keep! But its objections confuse me so much. Here I'm trying to set Warden#2 to Morrigan romance/done the dark ritual +Anora ruling alone.
I already selected Anora. So far so good.
Then I was just pressing "Morrigan had an old god baby with the warden" and a popup tells me I need to make Alistair king for this.
???
what. why. since when. Alistair has exactly zero to do with this. Neither has Anora. (Except if they joined in behind my back to get some bloodmagic lovin' of their own, I guess?)
...Am I overlooking something?
Edit: And apparently I can't even get around this by marking Alistair as staying in the Wardens, because then it objects that Warden!Alistair conflicts with the Warden surviving. I... what? This was definitely a possible combination in the game.

Check the set choices at a glance. It's possible one of them is creating a conflict somewhere.

Right. Resetting to different things helped, thanks.
Apparently you have to set them in a very specific order. You need to set choice#1 to something unrelated (not the one you want cause it won't let you) so it will allow you to set choice#2 to something unrelated and THEN you can resolve the whole choice kaskade in the "right" way.
That's... kind of counter intuitive.

It's downright stupid. The world state should be a blank and it should only start filling those blanks as you approve choices. That way you can easily avoid all these problems.

I think they're pre set so that if there's something you don't mess with it still has something importing in. That way people can change one thing that's important to them and leave the rest if they want.

Yeah, I really like the Keep and love how comprehensive it is, but some of the "conflicts" are confusing. I couldn't keep my Warden's status as "Alive and well" until I manually selected Morrigan had the OGB, Alistair and Anora were the rulers of Ferelden, and I had to put Alistair as unromanced. Some of those were default too, but it still wouldn't let me make the Warden Alive status until I manually selected them. That's a tip for everyone; be sure to manually select each and every option, default or not, because the Keep can apparently bug out if you leave anything as Default without setting it yourself.

You could load a default template for that.

Isn't that what it is though? I don't know why some of the choices conflict when they shouldn't, but think the default world state is what's loading. Since our choices don't inout from syncing.
I haven't paid that much attention to it honestly.

There is a default world state but the conflicts persist when you create a new one.

Well my only problem with is that it loads my DA2 heroes, but not my Origins ones, I can see my DAO achievements though. But I suppose it doesn't matter anyway, I used default appearance female Hawke, and it doesn't matter what the Warden will look like because I don't think he won't be showing up anytime soon. It's the choices that are important.
Surprised how thorough this thing is. And the interactive story vid is a bonus.

What a game review site is wrong? Stop the presses. Kidding, sort of. Though, not surprised IGN is getting it wrong... really wish they'd correct their article and make it more clear... going to be a lot of people complaining about their saves not being imported properly...

I'm having the same issue with my da:o heroes not loading.
To EA's credit my original ea origin account was on an email I no longer had access to and they were able to call me and I gave them some info and were able to reset my account for me which was helpful. Then I got all excited when I saw my achievements. Alas, the origin heroes would not load. womp womp womp.

The only major problem I'm having is with DLC's not showing up in the Careers section. I still got to choose for Mark of the Assassin Legacy and so on (at least I think I got to make all of the choices), but they're not syncing as purchased with the Keep.
Other than that, seems to work pretty well.

From Justin in the Keep forum: "Know issue, I've been working on some of our detection for owned products.
Its a lot more complicated than it sounds
but we are working on it actively... We just had to make sure open beta went smooth first and foremost"
So hopefully it will be fixed soon.

There is a bug. Desisions I made in DAO and that woks well in DA 2.
I made Alistair the king
I took Loghain in the Warderns
I refused help Morrigan and killed my Warden
Loghain is alive
Bu in Keep I cannot make Alistair the king and let Loghain to live.

No this isn't possible. You cannot have solo King Alistair and Loghain alive at the same time. The only way for this to work is if Alistair and Anora are married.

No, it's really not possible to have Alistair as sole king and Loghain alive at the same time. I just replayed the Landsmeet to check, and there's no way to do it. If you make Alistair king and then refuse to kill Loghain then Alistair will do it himself. The only way you can get Alistair king and Loghain alive is if Alistair married Anora.

The only problem I have, is if I click the box with the video play. It says 404 page can't be found. It's likely my net, or fact it's windy as hell out. Other then that, it's awsome imo. TRUE, some choices are in odd places, like Nathaniel Howe's in DA:O companions, and Ogren's in Awakening. But, big whoop.
