Hello everyone,

Sorry if this has been asked already, but I need to know.

Maybe it is an obvious questions, but since we can't create a character in the Dragon Age Keep, can we assume that the Hero of Ferelden will not appear (visually at least) on DAI?

I know that there is a DAO Character Creator, but It wont work for console players.

Thanks!

You can download the origin creator and upload that character to the keep via a PC.

Devs have confirmed the warden won't make a physical appearance.

No, you cannot assume that.   After all, Hawke is showing up in DAI, but you can't create him in the Keep, either.

That said, it has been confirmed by the devs that the Hero of Ferelden will not appear on screen in DAI.  He may be mentioned(either by characters or Codex), but that's the extent of it.

If you get completely stuck (and I'm sure you won't, once you get started!), post a question in the DA Keep forum instead of this more general DA Inquisition one.

There are a lot of people there who have been playing with the Keep for quite a while now, and most are pretty good about helping out.

Okee-dokey, thank you. It was more of getting it to my Xbox 360 that confused me, but I read more and it's not as complicated as I thought.

You won't get to customize Hawke in the Keep, that will mostly happen in DAI itself.

So I just finished my entire "import" state for dragon age inquisition, getting a playthrough for origins and II done and ready to go. Got a warden who took the romanced morrigan and took dark ritual and a sarcastic hawke who romanced isabela and sided with the mages.

I synch my account, and now my warden died killing the archedemon, and a paragon hawke, and neither of them romanced anyone.

...I am confused as to why we are allowed to have the option of importing, if we're going to have to rework everything in the tapestry anyway. Why not just put a character creator in the keep and let us fill in the story using the tapestry, since its practically the same amount of work being done.

I suspect it just evolved that way.

In the beginning, I assume, a lot of thought was put into how the Tapestry would work for getting save game details into DA:I. At that stage there would have been no need for a Character Creator, since the DA:O character was not going to appear in DA:I and the DA2 character would have its own in-game customisation tool.

Syncing characters really wasn't and still isn't necessary. However, as attempts were made to sync achievements into the Keep, someone probably said something like: "Hey, you know what? If we're syncing achievements, couldn't the same system also sync character details? Even though it serves no purpose, I think players would really appreciate that ..."

And so, a simple attempt to do something nice became a major headache!

Well the Keep doesn't import decisions, so yeah you got the default world states.

As for why they didn't put in a character creator with the tapestry, it is because the Keep is meant to be used on any device. A character creator would not work well on mobiles and they would basically have to include the graphics engines for DAO and DA2 in order to allow you to recreate your characters. The end result would be data intensive and probably would not be usable on almost everything like the current Keep since I don't think the Character Creator could be made in HTML5.

Keep is awesome, but I still waitting for another languages...

They said they are going in next update, which is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.

How do I sync my custom character from dragon age origins if I downloaded the game via PSN?  Keep in mind that I can't register my game on the BSN cause I don't have a  registration key. So how exactly am I supposed to import my custom character? If anyone could provide me with a solution or answer to this problem it would be very much appreciated.

Above, Mike says that if you import a world state from the Keep into Inquisition, you'll be able to customise Hawke, which suggests it is done within Inquisition.

We know that it is done in-game. If a previous PC appears we can customise them

Let me preface this by saying, yes, I'm being slightly lazy here and not searching through all 300 pages of this thread.

With that out of the way... is the Dragon Age Keep actually designed by BioWare? Or is this a 3rd party add-on for DAI?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm really leery of entering my Origins ID and PW for an add-on, if it's made by a 3rd party. I've been hacked in games before (admittedly online games, although it was from a data leak by the company, not anything I'd done) and it really REALLY sucks to have a character you've worked hard on get fubar'd by someone looking to get his jollies. :-)

It's made by Bioware. They have a Keep team.

Hello,

I've just realised from reading these forums tonight that the Keep doesn't import decisions from our saves. I was wondering why it had made so many mistakes, I thought it was a problem with the synchronisation/flags.

So, to clarify, the Keep basically allows you to import the name and appearance of your Warden/Hawke, but you have to manually change the tapestry to get your desired world state?

I don't remember every decision I made in the particular playthroughs I've chosen, so I think I'll be taking some liberties  ^_^

keep brings over what your heroes were (excluding specialisations). Nothing about what they did.

Names aren't imported into the game. Appearance is just a 2d avatar that is also not imported in-game.

Seeing more people uploading what choices they made to youtube for others to see. Always interesting to see what others world states look like.

The Keep "imports" the name and appearance of your Warden/Hawke into the Keep itself (well, it does if you can get syncing to work!) but not into DA:I. And, yes, you always have to change everything in the Tapestry manually.

For most people, I suspect the big decisions will stick in their minds (who you made King/Queen in DA:O, who you sided with in DA2 etc). To help you remember the smaller decisions you made, you can refer to your in-game Quest Log/Journal and/or the DA Wiki. There are also a couple of help guides put together by players here on the forums.

Or you can just take the view that, if you really can't remember all the little decisions, you won't know if they're reflected in DA:I or not, so it doesn't really matter!   ;)

I see. So the only difference it makes is that people might mention that the Warden was an elf, and that Hawke was a mage etc.?

I think with manually making the decisions in the tapestry, it will stick in my head what options there were and I'll be looking out for them being mentioned in Inquisition now.
