The Keep is a website, and should be accessible from any device with a web browser. If your console is internet-connected and can browse the web, then yes. (If you get invited to the beta test, of course.)clone wars wrote...
will the beta test be on the pc only or will it be test on console too

So much for my concern that this won't be detailed enough
(I just hope there will be no significant cuts from that state of things)

As I understand it, there will be no direct save import from DA2 into DAI. The only way is via the Keep. The question if you can import your DA2 saves into the Keep to populate your world-state is still undecided.Aarkaan wrote...
Will there be differences if I use the Keep & Import Save?

I wonder how it will be framed? Based on the website's splash page, I'm thinking a moving illustration, like Varric's narration, and possibily narrated by Varric. Probably opening with something like, "Let me recite the tale of the warden for you..." and then questions on the race, background, class, etc, with Varric repeating what you choose as the next question loads.

For an example, I'll use a male Cousland becoming king and keeping Alistair. I hardened Alistair and had him fight Loghain at the Lands meet, which has him kill Loghain right away and since he's hardened he doesn't declare himself King. Anora still allowed my Warden to marry her and Alistair revoked the right the Throne and was fine with it.
IMMEDIATELY after the landsmeet it glitches out and just makes Alistair king. I felt bad exiling Alistair and while I grew to like Loghain and was happy to see him in Awakening, but if the Keep allows it, I'd love to be able to keep Alistair as a warden and kill Loghain while still being King consort.

I can't help but feel this way too, unfortunately. I wish they would just say one way or the other if they're even trying to create a solution for people who don't use the internet with their consoles (like the USB file suggestion some posters have made).Foopydoopydoo wrote...
And the idea I'm getting is that the devs are basically going "well... sucks to be them."
I have several playthroughs, Wardens and Hawkes that I designed to have specific personalities/beliefs/goals, and I've kept detailed lists of their choices. But the way things seem now, there's a big possibility that their actions will have no impact on the world of DAI at all.
That's another thing I'll be looking out for when more info is released.Filament wrote...
It's certainly possible to play the game without importing, but that doesn't rule out any kind of online-check DRM.

Does anyone think here that the Keep will allow us to go with scenarios that were previously impossible do to glitches?

He dclares himself king if he's hardened, unhardened he defers to you.
And that's what I'm hoping for. To my understanding, if he's unhardened and kills Loghain, he's happy with remaining with the wardens, and anora is happy to marry the player, but the game glitches there. Supposedly there's some fanmade patches, but other than that my hope is to fix it in the Keep. the closest I could do for now is exile him, or have us both stay with the Wardens and Anora rule alone.

What little I know about it, it doesn't appear to simply be a questionnaire of what previous choices you made.

If it was some kind of historical time line sort of thing, I would totally be down with that. I love timelines.

Will taking this survey be an option or will it be forced on us to remember every decision from 2009?

Anyone feel like Dragon Age Keep will be more of a 100 question survey or 30 minute questionaire? I'm not one who enjoys surveys. I'd rather much spend that time playing the game. Will the Keep download our save files from PC, or Xbox then transfer that data to DAI??
Will taking this survey be an option or will it be forced on us to remember every decision from 2009?
Hope it will. That seems the best option to me. Why bother clicking all those boxes when you can just upload and pinpoint known glitches?

Oh, I agree. I'm just not looking forward to clicking them all, so much as playing a custom DAI afterward.

I do have a stable internet connection so this won't be a problem with me but yeah . I'm pretty disgusted with some of the devs atm. But hey, not their responsibility to maintain my faith in humanity.

As the first step in creating a new world-state, you select one out of several presets - like the different presets at the start of DA2 - which will give you a valid, logically consistent starting point. If DA2/DAO saves can be imported into the keep, this will happen at this point, where either the imported save will serve as the preset or if necessary, will be amalgamated with the chosen preset (I can see this import function being really complicated, internally, so I consider the possibility we won't have it).
Then, you will be able to browse the world-state parameters, which will be separated into different sections arranged in a tree pattern, possibly with the most important, big decisions - like the ones you see in the DAO->DA2 import - at the top in an extra section, and you can go deeper into the tree for the more detailed stuff. That way, people who don't want to bother with minor things like "did Dagna go to the Circle" (not that this is minor in my personal view) can be done with things quickly.
Ideally, every parameter value will come with a description and a picture giving you the details in an aesthetically pleasing manner (in visual and storytelling aesthetics). When you change a parameter, the Keep will check your world-state for inconsistencies and give you the choice to either change the conflicting parameters or reject the change you just wanted to make.
Also, what I read from the developers appears to indicate that we will be able to recreate our Wardens' and Hawke's faces, or maybe even import them.
I don't think there will be significant audio or animated components, except maybe for the major decisions and the companions.

The Keep should offer a function "export world-state to file" which DAI should be able to import. Then all you need is an USB stick to copy the file to your gaming box. I don't know consoles. Would that work?
