If you are chosen for beta testing, I am sure those types of instructions will be included.

Plus, I think the Keep is only intended to be used at the start of a game, so it's not like you can modify events as they happen in-game.
That is correct.

You really feel that people should be forced to play well over 100 hours (combining DAO/DAA/WH/DA2) numerous times just to create different save files and see their results in DAI?Irxy wrote...
This whole thing makes your choices cheaper though. Don't like the consequences of killing that dude in the 1st game? No need to deal with it, one click and it's fixed. Practically a built-in cheat function.
For myself, I would like to see the results of some choices in DAI (making Anora Queen or Ultimate Sacrifice), but that is not something I actually want to do in my DAO plays. If I am going to invest in over 80 hours doing a DAO play, I'm going to do it the way I want and find most entertaining.
Recently I did a new DA2 play using one of the pre-set Origins, No Compromise. The differences were fun to see and were refreshing after a dozen or so plays with my own import.
A significant chunk of players never even finish a game once, and those of us here on the BSN who have multiple plays are in the minority.
Also, importing from save files IS BROKEN. DAO and DA2 have numerous bugs that are most likely never going to be fixed. I am extremely happy we get to avoid that mess altogether with this method.

For example in one of my gameplays (human noble female) all my decisions were made the way that without using mods in the end I married Alistair, and romanced both Leliana and Zevran.
In Awakening I received letters from both and I kissed Alistair when he came by.
So the point is that Keep may not be able to transfer some choices that normal save transfer would.

I agree with what you write. your answer for Irxy shorter. This is what's best with DAKeep you can pick exact same decision like you did in game or not. You not forced to change if you didn't like something just deal with it and continue play. If you can't sorry it's your problem.

I love the idea of the keep, but what I fear will be done is that some decisions will not be possible to carry over together.

I think something wrong with your romance plot flags. It shouldn't be possible if you romance more then one person you are confronted and have to pick one. Keep should solve bugs like this.

Anyway some choices were available and Keep is going to "fix" them. I don't like that idea.

Maybe there can be an option to have parts of it randomized. Like if its a choice we don't care for, and it would mean more to us to have a surprise in the game on what way it went. Or better yet, starting with a completely unknown background of the world where all the older choices were randomized rather than just starting with the default canon.
I have played DAO and DA2, but I tend to do quite a few playthroughs of these games and something like that could make further playthroughs that much more interesting.

Why do you think that situations which were achievable without modding/cheating, and which don't obviously break the game, will not be possible via the Keep?WoJo2307 wrote...

This is actually a pretty cool idea. For someone like me that has played through Origins 10 or 12 times you can just tinker directly with the variables without having to blast through another 10 hour playthrough just to make that one little change.
You finished DAO in 10 hours? How did you do that? Time travel?

It's a cool idea on the surface, but the devil lies in the details. There may be choice combinations which don't contradict each other, so the Keep wouldn't rule them out, but which wouldn't fit any non-schizophrenic Warden or Hawke. That's ok if you actually played your characters that way, but as the result of a random world-state generator they would look very odd. Maybe it can be done - I would certainly like to see it - but I doubt it's considered worth the effort. Just consider what kind of Warden would desecrate the Ashes but kill Avernus and not use the potion he developed. What kind of Hawke would make all the pro-Templar choices in the game but then insist that a rivaled Anders (who all but admits that he's an abomination and has lost control) isn't killed.lx_theo wrote...

That ain't a bug, conversation with either of romanced characters imply that they know and agree for that; for example Leliana (if hardened) agrees to stay with you if you marry Alistair if you tell her that it's only because you want to be a "queen".

Romancing Leliana and Zevran at the same time doesn't sound like it's supposed to be able to happen.

Or maybe it took 10 hours to get to that decision, and not beat the game.

They don't have to know what kind of Warden/Hawke would make those decisions, they only have to know what kind of world results from them. So...ashes gone, avernus dead, potion unknown, anders alive. The results would be the same results no matter what kind of people the warden and hawke are.
