I still think there should be three possible storylines, Warden, Hawke and Inquisitor. You can play each separately (Warden/grey wardens, Hawke / mages or templars, Inquisitor / inquisition). Each playtrough are separate but affect each other(are intertvined, you can cross path with another character converse with them and even kill them) and decisions in each shape the outcome of the game. But it is not necessary to play all, you can choose just one and other automatically play out theirs. Like in GTA5.

This is not happening, for the record.

@Ukki

The likelyhood of that happening is very low, sorry.

The likelihood is zero. lol. David Gaider already said that wasn't happening. ;)
We will be playing only the Inquisitor (which I am totally fine with).

Jep, that was given but it would have been epic. But only if each playtrough would have been atleast 40h so the total would have been somewhere 120h.

No, it wouldn't have been. It would have meant Bioware violates the corpse of two of my previous protagonists, ignoring my choices and my characters personality to rope them into some sequel plot.

New DA Keep info!

We can't re-create our Warden and Hawke's appearance. Confirmed in this video.

www.youtube.com/watch

Bit disappointed, maybe it could be in the actual game we recreate them?
But the most probable answer is that they won't appear at all.

This is a huge dissapointment as well. I hope there's enough feedback that they'll give us something to customize a Warden or Hawke (possibly outside the keep).

I believe Bioware made their decision cut their losses and move on to something different (and hopefully extraordinary), rather than continue Hawke's story and be saddled with the apparent baggage of DA2 and the Eclipse engine.

Perhaps Bioware could do a shortened version of the Exalted March as Frostbite DLC to finish Hawke's story. However, perhaps it might serve Bioware better to look forward toward the Inquisition rather than look back at the controversial DA2 to tie up loose ends. As it is, it will be nearly 3 years since DA2 when Inquisition is finally released. In my opinion, wasting any more life support on DA2 might have risked the death of the Dragon Age series before Inquisition could be released.

Honestly, I'd rather deal with an Exalted March as the Inquisitor anyway. Hawke was the hero of a small region and his/her connection to the chantry is a nebulous thing too dependent on decisions we've made. Such a DLC would likely tie Hawke's hands a bit more, while the Inquisitor would be able to allow us to handle it from the perspective of a group that already has starting place in such a thing.

Using the ingame CC would be more efficient, instead of having a CC that supported 5 different platforms.

Exalted March got cancelled and they allegedly burned the tee shirts. They should have auctioned them off.

I believe the console players need more info about how to get involved with the beta and how it would work for them.<_<

I don't believe there is a difference regarding the beta. My understanding is that both PC and console players sign into the keep through a web browser with whatever device you want to create the world state. The difference will come when DAI comes out, you download the world state through the game on whatever platform.

I'm pretty sure it's done the same way say Rockstar Social Club stuff is done for their crew system and such.  Use basically your Origin account to sign in, make up all the different histories you want and then when the game comes out connect with your Origin account and then you have access.

Yeah, I'd be down with that as an optional step while importing from the Keep.

finally signed up for the beta.
Don't expect to be selected.Although, cough cough, I am the most qualified person to be selected due to my many years of rpg gaming experience.
rotfl.
Anyway, not being serious so I hope no one takes offense.Like I said, I don't expect to be selected.
shrugs.
One would hope we'll hear the beta has started by March or April one would think.

Where can you find the youtube videos. I'm a little sad I didn't get picked, but I understand. When it comes to Bioware games I'm kind of a newbie. Best to give it to the fans who have been passionatly following the series for years.

Well, IIRC they said over the course of the beta (which is going to be done in stages) they'd be looking for both new and veteran players. More and more people are going to be folded in as they go along. All we can do is be patient...

EDIT: Dang... semi-ninja'd!

I believe the intention is that eventually almost everybody, or everybody, who signed up for the Beta will get access. They want to stress-test the networks and stuff, which involves getting as many people as they possibly can to join in at once. So it might take a while, but as far as I read the plan was to fairly consistently keep ramping up the number of users - it also helps with their feedback and metrics if they get a range of player types and whatever.

(I think the idea is to make sure everything is absolutely working properly before launch, to avoid the network issues that have affected SimCity, BF4, and other games recently.)

Ok, this has probably been answered already, but I don't have the time to browse through 40+ pages of posts, so i just have one question; how exactly will the Keep work?
What I mean is, will I always have to recreate my characters and stories from scratch, relying on my memory, or will there be an import-save-into-keep feature?
I didn't understand that bit very well in the original blog post.

It's important to me because, while most of my playthroughs were "paragon"/"good", there were many subtle (and a few not so subtle) diffrences in decisions made and romances picked that depended on the character's class, gender and attitude. I might not, and in fact already do not remember all of them for all my characters, but I still feel those choices make them unique and different from each other, and in that respect, those choices are very important.

Bioware are working on such a feature BUT it is very difficult and they cannot yet guarantee whether or not such a feature will be in the final version.
