ElitePinecone wrote...The Keep has a function where you can "lock in" an end-state decision, and it will only then let you choose prior "prerequisite" decisions that don't break the system or contradict the one you've locked down.

So I guess in this instance you could lock down "Warden becomes King" and it would only allow you to pick the Alistair/Anora/Landsmeet/whatever outcomes in combinations that logically fit. It can be a way of guaranteeing a desired worldstate in a way that doesn't break the game (since the decision trees in the Origins endgame especially are apparently ridiculously complicated).

That's cool I suppose. I doubt it will be done, but it would be cool if we could just get a DAO world state save that we could import into DA2 as well. Since some possible world states are bugged on the consoles.

I don't think I seen this question answered and it would be a nice one to have answered too since the Keep is suppose to make the import correct and not be messed up like save import system seems to be. I would love to sometimes go back to DA2 after playing Inquistion and worry about having to have a Origins save to do that. I find Origins can be dreadful to play nowadays, I like the game but you can only reread the same book so many times.

I was wondering about the Dragon Age Keep. All the updates and information released thus far have been interesting. The idea of being able to re-create the state of Thedas without re-playing the first two games is very appealing. However, once it's up and we get to customize Thedas the way we want it to be... my question is (since there had been talk before about the Warden and Hawke making an appearance in the game) would they look like our characters? Or would we get a generic Hawke or Warden? Would we be allowed to re-customize them to the specifications we had in our previous games?

I'm just curious... want to know if Dragon Age Keep will have this feature. :)

It was confirmed  that you won't be able to customise the appearance of your Warden/Hawke in the Keep.

Bare in mind however that we really don't know whether or not they'll be in Inquisition. If they do make an appearance, BioWare could hide their faces or put in an additional character creator at the beginning to choose how they'll appear, though the most convenient option would be to just leave them out and avoid any overcomplications or potential controversy.

I don't have the patience to read all 60 pages of this thread, so I just wanted to know: will I even be able to access the Keep? I only own Origins, and that on Steam. Would I be able to import into DAI?

You're not really importing from a save file. You're creating a world state from scratch on an online platform, then downloading it to your PC or console. So it won't really matter if you've owned either of the previous games. I recommend reading the blog post.

If you've played origins on a console you're probably aware of the character limitations:

http://www.gamefaqs....rigins/55776581

Not sure if there is a sticky about this on this site in the DAO forum.Probably is.

I wonder how saves on flash drives could be used to interact with the Keep.
I don't have any on flash drive but I am thinking of getting one as I would like to do more playthroughs without deleting my old DAO save files.

Ok, late to the party and I haven't read this whole novel thread, so apologies if this has been asked.

I'm wondering about non human character playthrough saves from DAO/DA2.

With DA:I only playable as human, what is the point of them.

Or is the idea theat we can upload non human saves to the cloud/keep and at some point add the Inquisitions plot/decision flags to ready them for potential use in DA4 and beyond?

Is that something that will be possible, or have I just thought of great idea.

Likelihood of the latter = low,

Thanks.

You can be an Elf, a Dwarf, a Human, or a Qunari in DA:I.

The Keep is an independant web-based app. If you post on these forums then you can log into the Keep when it goes live. We don't know what the interface will be like; if it will be a big list, I hope not, or something more intuitive almost like a game in-and-of itself. You enter all the desicions you want to for what you did in DA:O and DA2; you don't upload anything to the Keep, it is seperat from the other two games; it's all going to be some form of data entry. And if you don't want to do that, take time to enter a bunch of things you did, then the Keep will generate a world based on what you have entered. The data you enter can range from making every choice but one, only making big choices, or all the way to leaving everything blank but the race of the Warden; and everything in between. Which means you aren't locked into anything you did in the first two games, you are free to experimant with what might have been before downloading your world state into DA:I. You can even not do the Keep and just jump into the game with a preset world state if you want.

Hope this info helps.

We haven't heard much dev wise here in a while sadly, I guess that's sign things are moving along.

Random question, is there any chance that physical appearances (I.E. My original character's portrait which I have) will be imported for any purposes into the new game?

Or some sort of character repository with portraits would also be very cool. Mainly just curious if original character appearances will have any bearing on the Keep/Inquisition game. I doubt it, but figured I'd ask.

Do we know whether the Keep will allow one to import choices from one game and manually set the import choices from t'other?

I would love to see my old warden or hawke on a portrait on the walls of taverns or the like based on what they looked like in those chars pick but that would never happen Bioware has to much to do as it is

They specifically said in an interview that the keep does not contain information on the physical appearance of Hawke/ the Warden, only their gender, race and class.

I think it's been said that you cannot import to the keep at all as it currently stands- you have to manually create all of the saves from scratch, regarless of which system you used to play the games. I think they said they are still looking at this though, so it may be possible by release.

Thank you so much! This completely alleviates my concerns about how I was going to import my Dragon Age save games from my XBox 360 into DA:I when I purchase it for my XB1.

Wouldn't matter if the Inquisitor were still "Human Only".

The Keep will allow you to designate the choices you made in the previous games so as to make the world-state (plot flags) at the beginning of DA:I match what you did previously, and carry the consequences of those decisions (if any) forward appropriately.

Whether your Warden was a Dwarf or not will make no difference as far as your Inquistor is concerned!  :P

If you can make your own play out on DAO from the keep I guess they will not be making DAO DA2 for my PS4 then. I so wish I lived in Vancouver or where ever that DAI demo play was I'm so ready to play and test the keeps load outs

We don't know whether the Keep will allow you to import choices at all
Nor do we know any limitations of it (though it is unlikely to be available for consoles)
I get the impression that if it is available you may be able to tweak it later

did they say anything about using the keep to set up a world state then using a usb to store it as a save to import right from a console?

They did. They said it isn't part of their plans right now, but it could be something they look at before the game is released.

I'm not sure why they say it would be hard to get a starting point from the consoles since we can already upload a good amount of our story from the game to BSN. Really, all they need is to be able to identify the states of important flags to pre-define them for the keep.

Patching the old games to just upload a relatively small string of text with character position and value defining the state of a flag would be enough. They've already admitted to having conflicts with the flags, so there isn't much face to lose by programming in questions to resolve conflicts.

Heck, they could use a similar idea to upload character appearance to transfer into DAI (with possibility of post-import cleanup). If I can take a code for Sheppard's face from one ME3 game to another, I should be able to upload a Warden and/or Hawke face to the keep (Warden face probably doesn't carry over to DA2), which can translate it to a beginning point for the inquisition character creator as a post-import step.

Bonus points if I can get a code from DAO and DA2 that the keep lets me plug in for the face. Yes, this would require patching, but is a small patch to display a value or upload information to encourage people to buy the next game so bad?
