Some care needs to be taken that questions in the Keep do not signpost plot involvement.
Example:
If the Keep checks what you did with the Dwarven mage enthusiast Dagna, then we are to assume that Dagna is to be involved. However, if no questions are asked does that imply she is not.
Why ask about a past decision that is not relevant?

No. It implies that that decision *might* be relevant in some future DA game (or other media), not even necessarily Inquisition.adrest4 wrote...

Why not? For flavour - because some decisions exist purely to develop the player character? For completeness - to ensure that those choices are recorded just in case they are ever used (without any implication or guarantee that they will be)?Why ask about a past decision that is not relevant?

If I go through the list of "all the important choices" from DAO and DA2, then I immediately know what'll come up in DAI. That breaks immersion for me.
The main part of the magic of having a game that keeps track of your decisions (for me) is not knowing when something you did possibly a long time ago will come up. Having the big decisions imported is great as well, but just adding them into the system yourself breaks the feeling of continuity in the series.

Well, I suppose that could be a problem if its a small list, but if it lists virtually every major decision in each game it would be impossible to know. Even if it were, there'd be know way to know what that impact may be.Owen14 wrote...
Part of the thing that bugs me a little about not being able to import saves directly is that I don't want to know which decisions were important and which weren't- I want it to suprise me.

Pretend you were creating a Keep save for DA2. It would ask you whether or not you chose the elves or the werewolves. Does that mean you'd know the only relevance to this point would be a sidequest you might run into on the Wounded Coast? Or the Architect decision, could you know that would result in a Nathaniel sidequest down the line?
Actually, we don't necessarily know if every decision we put into the Keep will have a consequence in DAI.

Where have you got that idea? It is not guaranteed that any/all decisions you input into the Keep (which will include both minor and major plot variations) will be reflected in DAI, or any future DA game.
Actually, we don't necessarily know if every decision we put into the Keep will have a consequence in DAI.
I believe it is 100% safe to state that NOT every decision in the Keep will be reflected in DAI.
To illustrate; earlier in this topic...
... even if we don't make use of it in DAI, the option remains readily available for a different game.
And in fact, when the Keep was revealed on the Bioware blog:
Moving to the cloud allows players to take their unique world state into any platform (present or future) and even other media.

I would like the Keep to be deep and even track very minor things (like Red Jenny) I'm fine if only a few carry over, even if it's only a passing mention in a bar or a codex. But I can imagine there are those who will demand everything to be handled and addressed in a major way.

I wonder how many people will use the Keep and then rage about not every single bit of choice is impacting DAI.

That would be true, regardless of The Keep.
People data mined previous Import files to see what flags were being carried over, and what new games searched for when starting up a new game. If choices were carried over and not acknowledged, there were many who would howl and wail. Even choices that were recognized and brought up in the game routinely result in people complaining, sayin the reflection of their choice was too small. It's always going to be the case with Save Imports - many people are going to complain because Bioware could never deliver the ultimate level of impact for some players tastes/expectations.

I'd still prefer if those choices were present in the save file, or in the Keep.
Not all of us are asking for tons of changed content, or any changed content at all. I just want acknowledgement.

Same here. Just having the choices in the Keep not only acknowledges the fact that they happened, but it also means that there is a chance that somewhere, somehow, they will have an effect in future games.

That's not strictly necessary. The keep allows them to add flags from previous games in the future, even if they'll not be present in the Keep when it'll be released.Same here. That said, I'd like if the keep presents a lot of flags as well.

Sorry, I don't think I was overly clear in my post. I know that the Keep can have choices added to it for future titles- I just meant it would be nice to have a lot of the choices made in Origins and Exodus present so they can be referenced in future titles. ![]()

I think I wasn't clear either. What I meant is that if some flags from DAO and DA2 are added when the Keep is released, they can be added later, if they want them to be referenced in future games.

Oh. That would be extremely useful then- sorry for the confusion! Although it might be a bit of a giveaway if a choice was suddenly added in but hey, the more flags the better, right?

The Keep is bound to be released some time before DA:I, right? So what's the hurry with those beta invites? Not much use for the Keep before being able to play the game if you ask me.

I thought one of the devs said that not all the choices we make in the keep pertain to DA:I, but that some are intended for mentioning/impacting in later games. I'll see if I can find the post, I might be misremembering what was said.
