I thought one of the devs said that not all the choices we make in the keep pertain to DA:I, but that some are intended for mentioning/impacting in later games. I'll see if I can find the post, I might be misremembering what was said.

See my post, #1681 in this topic (top of page 85 as I see it).

My apologies, I must've missed that one.

So one would assume that Inquisition itself will not flag plot points, but rather something you can then add in the not-so-distant future of DA4.

Thanks Brian. For what its worth, I think the issue is with Sophos rather than the website. I have web filtering on to block potential suspicious sites, but there may be some function somewhere on dragonagekeep.com that may look odd to certain security apps.

Anything to help you guys out :)

This may be fixed by Sophos on Friday. We should have more information then.

Since the keep is a web based application with limited local data(I assume) I was wondering if they were any potential plans to have it web compatible or CSS optimized.

You can't import your games. There is only The Keep.

... what are you asking? The Keep is a website. It is therefore "web compatible"... ???

The keep is a web based application. It is much more flexible in terms of extending it to mobile application. I was wondering if they have plans to do so in the future.

Web application, website, all the same thing to the user, just terminology. Not sure what you mean by "more flexible" I'm afraid, but regardless - the Keep may already be mobile-optimised, we don't know at this point. Seems like it would make sense, but I guess that depends on how exactly choices are presented and what kind of rich content accompanies them (videos, "codex" and background information, pictures at least - we just don't know right now). I don't see the Keep ever being rolled into an "app" (the downloadable, installable kind) - no advantage that I can see to that, since it needs internet connectivity anyway.

Yeah I wouldn't also make an app for it. If their back end exposes their web services they could just CSS Optimize their layout to make sure it looks good on the mobile platform. It doesn't seem like it will be client intensive but that is just a guess.

It should be open to everyone some time just before the release of DA:I. Moreover, the Keep wouldn't really add that much as it, as far as I'm aware, functions more or less as a bridge between this DA and the previous ones, so not much use for the Keep without being able to play DA:I ;)

I know - but I'm looking forward to playing around with the Keep and seeing what flags can be set using it. My guess is it'll be released a month or so before the release of DA:I to create some buzz and to allow fans to have their world states ready to go. But a girl can dream that she might get to play around with it a bit earlier than that ;)

Oh believe me, I've been itching to get my things on anything that will satisfy my need for new info on DA:I, but I haven't applied to the Keep beta for one reason or another. So I know your pain, but hang in their gal.  :)

I think it would be smart for them to make an app for the consoles, I imagine not all computers can run the site if the computer is really old and out of date. Plus an app on the consoles would be smart because that would make it that much easier for them to use it.

So would just keeping a basic formatted version of the keep on the disk (espeically if they plan to have install disks to play the game anyway)

Removes the internet from the equation entirely and would allow people to craft their own world states ._. My primary xbox is still offline entirely and thus i have no way to connect to the Keep to create a world state that would be reflected in DAI. The Keep sort of ruins offline players, I guess i could switch consoles and use the online connected one but it just seems like a pain to do so just to play the game with it out being BW's own world state or nothing.

I recall one of the devs saying that they were considering an option to download the world state from the Keep as a file that could be imported to start a game on an offline console. I assume a USB thumb drive would be involved.

You sure about that? I don't remember an official source ever saying that, just forum speculation.

For once I have a question about the Keep that I hope one of the debs will answer (if it was already covered, and I merely missed out on it, I apologize in advance):

How will the Keep provide us with choices? Will it cover the main games per default, and the DLCs only if they were purchased/the game registered?

If so, will I be able to make DLC choices with my unregistered DA:O Ultimate Edition (which I apparently can't register because it's a used copy)?

I personally don't think you'll be required to register all of your content, because that would be somewhat strange in my opinion. Also there would be the issue of newcomers who are looking to shape their gaming world to some extend and haven't played any of the games. I'm not a developer though, so I'm not able to tell you anything with 100% certainty.

I believe the intention is to include DLC choices in the Keep regardless of whether you purchased them. I have no idea what the source is for that though, since lots of devs have said lots of things over the past six months or so.

I wrote a simply program that would extract and randomize the plot variables from DAO for DA2 testing, but there were still issues and it's possible that the randomization stuff didn't appropriately test the system in ways and some stuff slipped through.  The alternative is to do playthroughs and build a save game library with a lot of permutations which can be time consuming.

Now playthrough testers can set up the flags and go, which is a much faster testing setup.

Couldn't you have used the telemetry data to select the range of most popular choices and used those for testing? I'm not saying that those are the only ones that matter of course, only that those choices would affect the most amount of players.
