The amount of times I've had to delete saves for dragon age origins to make new ones in DA:O is unreal, however I think i'm going to just put a lot of time and effort into making previous imports that I think are interesting. It's annoying though because I liked my most recent playthrough of DA and DA2, but there was one decision I regret not making and that was to make Loghain a grey warden.. Might have to 'fix' that.

When the Keep comes out, I'm going to make multiple playthroughs until DAI comes out. I will finally be able to make the more evil choices.( I don't like to make them when I'm playing the game)Although the chance that I will play through all of them is very small.

But I'm really curious in what manner the DLC's will be implanted, I can't wait to try the Keep.

I dunno, I'm kind of looking forward to sitting down and entering every tiny detail of my world states. The Keep should be out before the game is actually released, so I figure I can get it all out of the way one afternoon before the game actually hits and then never have to worry about it again.

I believe Mike said a while ago that they're aiming to have the Keep out a month or so before the game launches.  :)

Probably, though hopefully we'll have a good amount before that.

Well, presumably it's only a relatively smaller proportion of players who have loads and loads of worldstates that they want to import - for many people they'll only do it once or twice, you'd think. It might be a pain to set up the Keep with your choices again and again, but it's not like every player is going to do that.

(After all, having a dozen different playthroughs is highly, highly unusual in terms of the overall player-base - particularly when about half the players don't finish the game once.)

Forcing players to specify every single choice even once is liable to drastically reduce the reach of the Keep (unless the number of choices tracked ends up being depressingly small). So unless it starts with default values (or allows selecting defaults, or letting mandatory "big picture" choices determine default values for lesser optional choices, or by some other means), the damage may already be done if it truly ends up a completely blank checklist.

If it winds up as a tool for only the most rabid fans, I'm not sure that it's even worth it (which is why I'm assuming there has to be some way to determine default choices or a better way of dealing with undefined choices than just pretending the associated content never even occurred).

In one of their interviews they did mention you only have to fill out the choices you're interested in carrying forward. Like, if you only wanted to put in that your Warden was a male Dalish elf warrior, that's all you're required to do.

It will be interesting to see what the effects of that will be on the game, and how things are presented in the Keep.

In any event, my reply was really only a response as to why defaults for the Keep could be useful—for people who have to enter multiple states, or for those who just want to experiment with other choices without having to start from scratch every single time.

There's not enough information to really speculate on other potential issues (though I seem to have made a bit of an effort to do so). :-)

Same here. I found the way they made each game/dlc/expansion require its own character file frustrating. So instead of getting ten full playthroughs with ten characters, it was more like three. (I hope the new game doesn't have limits on how many characters you can make.) I keep thinking about whether I should playthrough all the choices I have yet to make or just tick them off in the check boxes when the keep comes out .

I seem to recall that if you want a certain ending you can select that and any choices which counter that result will be unavailable. They also said it gives you the opportunity to see the results of decisions you didn't make, which I am actually looking forward to. I want to make 3 or 4 world states, one of which will be all the decisions I couldn't bring myself to play out in the games. The 'evil' one, as it were. Now that I think about it, I might want to make 5 or 6, hmmm . . .

i second this  :) but still the first reconstructed world would be as much close to my decision from first play of DA:O and DA2  ^_^

for the rest... we will see  ;)

They said they would announce it when they did, and I haven't seen anything.

Not that they couldn't have sent out another wave anyway, but they did say they would announce it.

To any of the devs that have posted here - are there any updates re. Sophos web security and dragonagekeep.com? Unless the site is added to a filter, I still get a "High Risk Website blocked" notice or an SSL connection error, depending on the browser. Thanks

Forget the beta, I'm more interested in the actual release date.

There was a possible fix for this for last Friday, but if you're still seeing this, it would appear not to have worked.  Thanks for the update - I'll update our internal bug that is tracking this issue, but I don't think we'll have a new ETA for a fix in the immediate future.

Currently, there is no planned option to let you use old save files at all. It is The Keep or the default.

They are looking into the possibility of being able to use Save Files to help pre-populate some information in The Keep, but it is not a guarantee at this point and it still means you will have to use The Keep to create a file you can import into DA:I.

So your thumb drive might be worthless. Just to set the correct expectations.

Would have been nice to participate in the beta and see how it would propably turn out before it releases, not to mention to give my insignificant two cents on the whole thing.

I'm not part of the beta, but would it be permitted that I post a list of all the things I recall my Warden did - ranging from his specializations to minor quest outcomes that I can recall - so that you can guestimate which choices will or won't be in the Keep?

Please don't do this. It will make no difference to you - what use is knowing now if a choice will or won't be reflected in the Keep?

Just wait for the Keep to be opened to the public and try it out.

How do I register for the beta?

You can register for the beta by visiting the Dragon Age Keep website and filling out a survey. You’ll need a valid EA/Origin account to sign in. If you have played one of our PC or console games online, you need to log in with the email address associated with your EA/Origin Account. If you don’t have an EA/Origin account, you can create one on the BioWare Social Network.

=====

Will that link get updated or are new accounts still permitted to be setup on the old site?
