I'd also like for the Hero of Ferelden and the Orlesian Warden-Commander to be able to exist in the same worldstate. My female mage Warden became Alistair's chancellor and chose to stay in Denerim to serve the crown. I avoided Awakening because I wanted to preserve that ending.
The same for my female Warden, who married Alistair and became a queen.

that seems to be the general idea, I believe they plan to give it us at least a month before Launch so they can make sure its all in working order and to stress test it properly

If we are playing on xbox,
will the keep be sorta a free DLC thing to access?
#2059
Posté 31 mars 2014 - 02:34
From what I've heard it includes DLC regardless of whether you played/bought them or not. I know some people are upset over it but I think it's kind of nice to allow people to at least get the experience in Inquisition that their choices would have made.

Lord knows they can't have the server crashing and making single player Inquisition games unplayable *side eyes Diablo 3 and Sim City 4*

I agree! Someone who didn't play the DLC won't understand the choices they'll be offered anyway, so those who got the FULL experience can at least find some comfort in that.

Exactly. I have all the DLC apart from the item packs for 2 and if we're going to the Free Marches again then Sebastian and how you treated him may have a huge influence. I feel like everyone should be able to have the ability to at least pick what happened, but it'll have more meaning for those who actually played with Sebastian around.

You access it on a PC/smartphone/tablet browser, not your console. The console part comes when you start up DA:I and it downloads the save files from EA's servers.

Perhaps the keep will have movie shots from the dlc, so that players can see what happened?

They'll probably either do this, or have little synopses written up of each pivotal scene so players can actually make informed choices. It would be cool if they had, like, an interactive version of Varric's book that we went through to fill in all the blanks.

Is that $10 you dished out in 2011 really so near and dear to your heart, that you get worked up over the notion that three years later someone you'll likely never meet who happened to pass on dropping $10 themselves gets to reap the choice-based reward of going through the motions therein? I mean, what the heck...?

Frankly, the degree of financial entitlement that comes with people complaining that people who didn't buy something ages ago shouldn't be permitted to experience at least a minimal scope of it significantly later on kind of sickens me.

It is even more ridiculous if you were to take the actual games into account as well instead of just DLCs. It is not in the interest of Bioware to make it so that you can only truly use the keep if you own both previous Dragon Age games because it would reduce Dragon Age Inquisition's market to consists of mostly previous customers only if newcomers don't want to just play the default game.
And heck, the argument about not wanting anyone to "experience" the DLC through the keep should mean that anyone who hasn't played any of those DLCs should not be allowed to post on this forum nor should they be allowed to read a Dragon Age Wiki either because they didn't pay for it.
I believe the keep only works if there is no entry point. You shouldn't have to own anything of the Dragon Age series to get to be able to set your preferred world state for DAI.

Lol, if this was the case, it'd take me forever to start a full playthrough as I'd keep wanting to restart with different world-states, just to hear Varrics recap narrative for each one. ^.^
