Forgive me if this has been asked, but will I finally be able to set up my Hawke as a mage and keep her/his sister instead of that annoying brother?  I'm hoping the DA Keep will let me choose this.

I think the story origin for a rogue/warrior and mage hawke will always have the same-class sibling die, sadly I think its set in stone, but who knows, but either way I wouldn't get your hopes for having a world state were a mage Hawke and Bethany are alive.

-edit below-

Since the main point of the keep is to fix all the logic & import errors that cropped up between importing origin/awakening saves into DA II,

Like you have to have Nathaniel with you in the final party when you fight Mother in order for him to appear in DA II, even though he can survive if you leave him to defend the keep.

Or the whole Zevran's death being ignored as well if you kill him at that first meeting.

I believe they mentioned that you'll be able to have a world state with an ultimate sacrifice warden & orlesian warden?

Yeah.  I figured as much, I'll keep a small hope out.  Unless I can bribe someone?

In order to build up your world states you would access the Keep in a browser to use their web app. Don't consoles have web browsers on them? I'm on PC, so I've no idea where that is concerned.

If your console is connected to the internet, yes. Mine are completely offline, so unless they allow us to use the USB solution or something like it, my only option would be the default world state.

tbh I like Carver, but only on his Grey Warden path, but I would love a world state that lets me have Mage Hawke and Bethany, but not because I'm a pro-mage or anything  *shifty eyes*

I can't wait to slaughter...I mean build a working relationship between Mages and Templars.

Carver is ok on his Grey Warden path.  In fact, I think that's the only way I like him.

I think the only time I liked him was when he rejoined my Hawke after she chose to side with the mages. Before that... well, it was a realistic family relationship, just not one that I care for.

I think the part about Nathaniel not showing up in DA2 was deliberate. The epilogue says something to the effect of "he decided the life of a warden wasn't for him and eventually left them" if you leave him at the Vigil. Personally, I think it's kind of silly how most of the companions kind of leave  when they're a warden for life but...that's for another topic

I agree it was a realistic relationship, I just wish I had a choice in choosing which sibling to keep regardless of my character class.  I'm holding out some hope that the DAKeep will allow me to pick the sister.

I'm hoping that we'll be able to import our saves because I really really really don't want to have to input all that information manually. hahaha

I wanted to save Bethany too. I think my Hawke would have naturally been more protective of her, since Carver has already been in combat before. They probably did it so the player would always have one mage and one non-mage, but that part of it wasn't very realistic - by chance, the class opposite yours is always killed.

I've tried to play Mage Hawke so many times but I get to the part in the prologue where the ogre kills Bethany and I just go "NOPE!" and restart as a rogue.

I wonder how granular they will let us get regarding the relationships the Warden and Hawke had with their companions.  Will we be able to say Hawke was friends with Aveline, Varric, and Bethany but a rival with everyone else?

Hopefully the DAKeep will correct the issue.  :)

I was starting to get emotionally invested in protecting the siblings of Hawke then bamn, instaDeath.

The forcing of one mage and one non-mage is understandable, but you pick up a non-mage soon after and then you have the opportunity to recruit more non-mages very early on, which kind of defeats the purpose.

I think the idea is to make sure that Hawke has some investment in the mage/Templar conflict no matter what class they are. If you could play as a warrior or rogue with Carver still alive, you'd potentially have less reason to care.

As far as I can tell, yeah, this. If Hawke and Carver were both warriors, there wouldn't really be a sense of urgency considering neither of them were mages. On the other hand, it would be kind of uncanny if Bethany got taken to the circle of magi and Hawke still got to run around as a lord/lady.

I get that message but that's because I already signed up with the same account. I'd assume that's what's going on. I haven't heard anything about them not taking any more applications.

I haven't signed up yet which is confusing,  I'll try again and see.

Why not make it possible to create save import within the game itself?,making DAK and it's *internet connection required* obsolete.

Simply put:  Because some people played DAO and DA2 on one platform, and will play DAI on another.

Because they want to be able to continually update it.

When we play a theoretical DA4, we will already have our DAO/DA2 flags set from before (minus whatever flags they might have added), so we can jump into the setting plot flags from DAI.

I'm going to be playing DA:I on Xbone and I played DA:O and DA2 on Xbox360.  Can't transfer the saves directly.  Thus the DA:K

It does suck for those that don't have a stable internet connection.  But there could be a transfer via memory stick?

I love this idea. Pure genius. I hope they do the same with Mass Effect.

Patching. If it turns out that some part of the keep file is totally b0rked, it's way, way easier to fix it as a web browser that puts together a file than necessarily patch one that comes with the game. Especially given certification requirements for patches.

I am simply hoping it will recognize flags for dead people and keep them deaded.
