Haha, I'm pretty anxious for an invite, too. I just found a document on my computer where I made note of what all of my choices were in my first DA2 run (with some other notes about my Origins run). I didn't even know I HAD that, and my old save files are on my brother's 360 (he got married and moved out, took the games/Xbox with him) so I thought I was going to have to try to make up my old saves from memory. I'm so happy that I actually have notes on them that now I want to get them in the Keep right away!

They probably won't gather too many people from here just yet. They will probably want to gather people who they are sure won't violate NDA and also people who have the ability to spread word once those NDAs are lifted. lol.

If they have already gathered all of those people, then who knows, maybe the devs will go through the forums and look at people they quoted or posted something that they laughed at. xD

Well, the time will come when they need to stress test the servers with sheer volume of traffic. I imagine that's our best shot.

I don't think it will be necessary to use Dragons Keep, mainly cause this is like a brand new Story, Also I am betting Inquisition will use Selection Choices if you choose not do the Keep.

Or somehow Bioware will somehow Implement an OFFLINE Keep then Import those Choices into Inquisition would be another possible choice or using a USB Flash Drive regardless of 56K Dial Up or Fast Speeds then USB into a Console of your choice.

Otherwise I don't see the Keep doing much in terms of Making choices into Inquisition, Other than seeing Random NPCs such as Hawke, The Warden, Allistair to possibly Leliana, Aveline, or Isabella to who ever survived in your Dragon Age games.

Other than that I see no reason to Import into Inquisition, previous games didn't do much in terms of Importing I see no difference in Inquisition.

See I am getting Inquisition on my PS3 but my Laptop is on 56K Dial Up while PS3 Is DSL, Broadband, WiFi or Wireless so I don't know how this will work regarding Keep from my Laptop to my Console.

So I may just play Inquisition this Fall using Selection Choices on its DEFAULT MODE so hopefully Inquisition will have more Choices than Dragon Age 2 did only having 3 Choices in DA 2 if you didn't import.

Just sucks that DK is the only way to IMPORT so many of us will be playing the game BAREBONE-DEFAULT, cause we don't know how the keep will work from PCs, Laptops to Consoles. Also Internet Connections could be another problem. If The Keep wouldn't work on 56K Dial Up. This would be a big kick in the nuts for a lots of us.

Basically Previous saves are USLESS, being NULL & VOID so I see no point in replaying previous Games, so I am going to trade my previous Games & delete its DLC since I can not do DIRECT IMPORT like Origins into DA 2 did.

The more I hear on the Keep the more it pisses me off. It sounds Complicated & Aggervating, being a confusing mess.

How will the keep Transfer from PCs, Laptops to a Console

What Connections does the Keep REQUIRE can I use it on DIAL UP.

How much will the Keep COST

Dude, people have already told you some of this stuff - I know because I was one of them. For example, we know exactly how much the Keep will cost: nothing. It's a free web site.

Also, the devs are on record saying that there will only be one world state available for people who don't use the Keep. It's the Matyr world state from DA2, with the dead Dalish elf Warden.

Dude, have you ever tried hitting that big red button at the top of this thread: "Show only BioWare posts" because it does, in fact, answer some of your questions, straight from the Devs.

I've pretty much lost interest in the Keep over time. The lack of news about it just killed any hype I've had.

Where on earth did you get the idea that the Keep cost money? And the Keep is accessible through any web browser. If you can get on and post to this site, I imagine you're fine.

We'll hear about it soon enough. Honestly, I don't really want to see the Keep until it is ready and working because it'll just make me want to play and see the game even more. xD

Why not make it possible to create save import within the game itself?,making DAK and it's *internet connection required* obsolete.

This is what I wanted as well, since direct imports are not an option - a way to select our previous choices and build a world state within the game instead of online. To me, DAI won't really feel "complete" if there are important features of the game that I can't access playing from the disc alone without an internet connection.

I hope you're right about that.

The Keep technically isn't necessary to play DAI, but I don't want to be stuck with just the default world state if I decide to buy this game. I won't be able to see the results of my Wardens' and Hawkes' choices that way, and some things about the default don't match any of my playthroughs.

The reasons they've given for making the keep online are:

1. Cost in man hours needed to build it for five systems.

2. Originally they had planned to let us upload our old saves from our old platform to create Keep saves for a different platform. That's turned out to be trickier than they thought as I understand it.

3. Making it online makes it much easier for them to patch.

I don't know how the Keep is actually set up, but my own idea was closer to a checklist - select the choices your character made to activate the plot flags that are already within the game, like some extra screens during character creation. What they're planning could be much bigger and more detailed, but if it comes at the expense of players who don't use online connections not having access to it at all, then the decision isn't worth it in my opinion.

They have done two waves of closed beta invites. Hope that answers your question!

I'm a bit surprised that the release date has been announced for the game but not the Keep. Shouldn't that be opening up soon? Or are there more rounds of beta testing to be done first?

I missed that. It's not on the Keep website anywhere. I guess I was hoping for a little more time but thank you for the information, Warden_of_all.

Would be nice if Bioware gave this priority so we can get our save games in order. I know they've said it'll be released a few months before DAI but it would be nice to have it sooner rather than later.

Does anyone here know if you have to be an active forum member to get a beta invite? I signed up for the beta so long ago, and have played all of the dragonage games to date. Not that it should guarantee me a spot, but it would be nice to know if there was something else I could do to increase my chances.

No. I don't think being active here matters in the slightest.
