''Within the Keep, you’ll be able to customize a Dragon Age historical world state to your exact specifications. How did you modify your Warden and Hawke? Who were your companions? Who did you choose to romance? Who rose to power, and who fell in defeat? What legacy did you leave?''

>>>''How did you modify your Warden and Hawke?''

>>''...modify your Warden and Hawke?''

>''''... Warden and Hawke?''

Discuss.

Edit:
''So does this mean Hawke and your Warden play an important role in Inquisition? Darrah says yes -- but BioWare won't elaborate on that just yet.''

That could mean anything from setting their appearance to simply selecting their gender or race/class.

Far too vague to say anything at all.

Fair point about their race and gender. But I don't think it's vague at all.

*holds up pin*

Perhaps this only means as a way to talk about the Warden and Hawke with fine detail within DAI, but not necessarily add the character to it. I would very surprised if they did have the Warden and Hawke physically in DAI.

You should know that bioware is good with information hype up...

Modify could be anything from just a gender to plot point which will impact story in some way.

I think, with two of the most powerful people in Thedas suddenly disappearing by DA2, Leliana looking for the Warden Commander and Cassandra looking for Hawke, I think it's EXTREMELY LIKELY that we'll see them in DA:I.

edit:
''Warden Commander'' refering to the Warden in DA:Awakening, which can both be the Hero of Ferelden or the one from Orlais, which means whatever makes the Warden Commander important, is because of something that happens during Awakening, which I think we all know what that means: The Architect

Um... Its for setting a "HISTORICAL" world state. I have little doubt that the Warden and Hawke will be mentioned in the game. That doesn't mean they will make an appearance by any means.

I have to say I am very curious about how detailed the customization of the warden and hawke will be in the keep.

I would think they would want to keep its system requirements down so more people could used it on the pc, but maybe not. It could feature a full character creation set up I suppose. Hmmm...I haven't seen any system requirements posted yet, so It is something I'm curious about.

Hawke would be easier to implement because of the fixed voice.

They'll probably add fixed voice for the Warden aswell if he/she is in the game. The Inquisitor will be voiced and can be two genders and three races. They're not gonna go with six voice actors, so it's obviously two, they can do the exact same for the Warden.

Couldnt they just use the same character creator the player uses to define his/her character ?

Well yeah there is that, besides, who's not to say that the warden or Hawke cut his hair differently or grew a beard between games or got horribly scarred in the FACE.

Brining back warden and hawke will be disaster on revan scale or even worse and giving that they will remove (well at least that looks like that now) save import it will be pure npc with own personality not person we been played.

Brining back pc as npc have only sense when pc have clear and own personality that is why they never showed hero frist NWN in NWN 2 or other heroes in that same setting when alex mercer had own personality brining him back in second game had sense but still for me they screwed up him .

Supposedly Darrah told IGN that Hawke and the Warden have a role to play, but wouldn't get specific.

I hope this is all passing mentions, however. It's not outside the realm of possibility that Hawke and Warden show up, that they become companions, that they become love interests, that they run factions enemy or friends, maybe they fuse into a boss battle, maybe they're dragons now. Truly anything is possible.

But I think anything more than "yeah, these two guys existed and they did stuff" would lessen my enjoyment of the game.

I would guess if they are going to use one at all it'll be similar to (if nto the same) as the one used in DA:I?  Which could be a fun peak ahead of time.  Image IPB

It's one line of text. The amount of supposition you are doing about said line of text is reaching. A lot.

It may very well be true, don't get me wrong. But saying it is not vague is delusion.

they could be important somehow to the whole story but not actually be in the game. Or the Warden COULD be the Inquisitor, but that's faaaaaaar in a galaxy FAR far away-fetched

Well, I could spend the next 24 hours piling up all the evidence about Hawke & the Warden appearing in DA:I. But I don't want to do that. The reason I created this thread for specifically that line of text is because that, to me, seems like the final confirmation that those two characters will be featured in the game.

I hope not as any canonization of the warden and Hawke would put a damper on the new story for me, but also might just retroactively destroy my enjoyment of da:o/a and da2.

I am pretty skeptical about that right now. I simply don't see how can be this thing well handed in DA:I.

Why are people so interested in the idea of BioWare taking control of their previous PCs (including voice-acting for the Warden) and forcing them into concrete positions in DA:I? Do you guys not realize how poorly this could turn out, how poorly it'd turn out under any developer's roof?

To me that just sounds like a way you can play around with history without needing an imported save, or a way to alter your imported save, not a guarantee that we'll see either the warden or Hawke. I think it's unlikely that either one of them will make an appearance because of the difficulties when it comes to interaction. They would have to bring in a VA for the Warden if he/she was to join in the conversation (and no matter how good the VA, there would be plenty of protests from the fanbase because that VA is not how their Warden was speaking). Also, it would be a bit silly if the player had to sit and pick dialogue options for all three of them (or even two of them) if they were talking to each other. Frankly, I don't see how it can be made to work well.

I expect to hear about them, but not actually meet them in the game.
