I don't think being able to customize Hawke and the Warden in the Dragon Age Keep means they'll be in the game. I just think it means that they'll be referred to and you can choose how they'll be referred too; like a Dalish Clan mentioning that the Hero of Ferelden was a Dalish or someone mentioning that both a Mage Warden and a Mage Hawke were both Amells

I don't see anyhting there about customizing appearance.  Looks like it's mainly for setting plot flags.  And those I'm sure will be a factor in DAI

Why are people so interested in the idea of BioWare taking control of their previous PCs (including voice-acting for the Warden) and forcing them into concrete positions in DA:I? Do you guys not realize how poorly this could turn out, how poorly it'd turn out under any developer's roof?

Voiced Warden doesn't bother me as much as a possibilty of him/her acting OOC, which is a big concern for me. Maybe we'll have a triple control segment (or three segments, one per each), where we will be given control over them? I don't know, I say let's wait and see, I'm sure BW will have to open up sooner or later.

Perhaps this only means as a way to talk about the Warden and Hawke with fine detail within DAI, but not necessarily add the character to it. I would very surprised if they did have the Warden and Hawke physically in DAI.

Yep i'm hoopig it'll just be used as a way to talk about player's Warden/Hawke as i really don't see them appearing and not being ooc.

I am pretty skeptical about that right now. I simply don't see how can be this thing well handed in DA:I.

But http://uk.ign.com/ar...-save-transfers

"So does this mean Hawke and your Warden play an important role in Inquisition? Darrah says yes -- but BioWare won't elaborate on that just yet."

Jesus and Hitler played important roles in out history. They aren't in it anymore.

W and H doesn't have to be in the game to play a role.

And maybe in Dragon Age 4, we'll have the entire party be past playable characters. By the time we hit 6, the entire roster will be nothing but PCs from the franchise.

sorry i cant understand why they would allow you to customize how someone looks in a game if that person is only going to be referenced to, why got to that length? if it was only to help in conversation dialogue wouldnt a mere simple checklist suffice?

Any number of reasons. Not last among them being the possibilities that "how you modified" doesn't necessarilly mean "how they looked." It could be something as simple as spec choice.

Or maybe someone will make an off cuff comment on hair color. Or maybe the OGB will show up with inheritance traits. Or Bethany/Carver, who were based on Hawke's appearance.

Sorry m8 i dont buy into that at all, there is a main reason for them allowing you to use a character creator on both hawke and the warden in a new game and it has nothing to do with cameo's from a brother n sister who may or may not be dead an a baby who may or may not even exist, an they certainly aint going to the trouble of giving that character creator just for a couple of silly comments on how your past character looked, nope sorry not buying it at all

All this I could live with and would be fun.

It would also be nice if my Hawke could finally be regonized for the bloodmage she was.

But I do not want to meet her, because bioware will never be able to show Hawke or the warden as the characters I knew from my games.

Who ever said that the Dragon Age Keep involved character creators?

I doubt Warden, Hawke or Inquisitor will be involved in scratching everyones' butts throughout entire franchise, but please, continue your pointless sarcasm.

Don't need to tell me twice!

If it's scratching butts in 6, it's scratching butts in 3. I doubt they'd be involved here, personally.

I have feeling that we might click on a glob/diary thing and add things to the codex pages by picking choices, and those choices will be mentioned in game, thats the most sensible thing I could come up with

I'm excited about this feature except I'm concerned that if we're asked to remake our past PC's that they'll suspiciously resemble my Inquisitor. I pretty much try and make them all look like me... :/

How is that supposed to work exactly? What Keep? Is it the Inquisitor's Keep? Does this mean the Inquisitor has the power to alter past events? Is the Keep some sort of preload of the Dragon Age universe prior to actually playing Inquisition?

Of course there will be flags related to the various decisions we made specifically relating to our wardens and Hawkes. Doesn't mean the characters will show up in the game. It just means they have flags for it, so they can be mentioned - if Hawke was a mage, for instance, or the Warden's specific origin.

Dunno but I'm getting flashbacks to March 2012 just thinking about it. *shudders*

Like dreamgazer pointed out - Why is it that people are so interested in seeing their previous protagonists again, who's probably gonna end up acting out of character from what the player imagined anyway and thus upsetting said player?

Well if you guys say that's what will happen then it must be true.
