Yes, it's this thread again. Warden & Hawke will defenitely be in DA:I.

I think when they refer to "how you modified your character" it probably means race/class/background/gender and they will reference that but I really doubt they will try to recreate your warden or Hawke physically in the game.

Unless Dragon Age Keep has the character creator for both the Warden and Hawke in the Frostbite 3 engine lol

I don't know about you, but most of my wardens would not be some random person's errand boy after they acomplished so much, they earned their stripes and would be the one in charge. Hawke though is probably still running the "Kirkwall Errands and Delivery Service" and would be glad to do random tasks for some random person (inquisitor).

They were too busy being errand boys for everyone else in Ferelden that random people outside it are too far down the list?

My Warden's a Queen she won't be doing someone's errands and my Hawke was sarcastic neutral she's too busy being on the run- also she resented working for someone else.
I'd prefer them to show up as NPC's if at all. I rather they just be mentioned and left out of the Inquisitor's game.

Did you miss the part where I said "after" they earned their way up? The warden if alive could be a Dwarven Paragon, a king or a queen, and is definitely the head of Ferelden's wardens as well as the Arl or Arlessa of Amaranthine. I can't see a person like that leaving their life and responsibilities behind to fetch resources or something for a random upstart in a different country.

Nah, I doubt they would be agents for you. They might be temporary party members at the most for a quest or two but they are both off doing their own thing and the inquisitor is catching up to them.Redjackryan27 wrote...

I loved both my warden and my Hawke too much to see them neutered by efforts to cross console issues and save game files. I'd just as soon see them fade to black.
I love my warden and Hawke enough for them NOT to fade to black. I like the idea of both of them joining the inquisition as free agents doing tasks for the betterment of the campaign. But I'd also like it if they gave us the chance to add them to our main stay party. There's suppose to be a contingent of 9 party members total. Perhaps the warden and Hawke is part of that 9?
And it would be super awesome if Bioware give us the option to reintroduce them into the inquisition campaign by recustomizing their appearances as we saw them.

It actually is quite vague as it could mean any number of things. Regardless, I've often found it plausible that the Warden or Hawke makes an appearance in DA:I, so, if nothing else, this is good news to me.Androme wrote...
Fair point about their race and gender. But I don't think it's vague at all.

No chance since making them companions or making them protagonists is actually what David Gaider was talking about in the thread lets us recruit the warden and hawke he replied hell no, as for them appearing what he said was this.
"At any rate, I'm not going to get into a big discussion about it. We realize some people are very precious about their PC's, and we're not apt to go out of our way to have them do things that violate headcanon... but they obviously did something, and that involves a plot that may not be what someone had in mind. Just be aware"
A few other's commented saying that they haven't taken the option of them returning off the table but then again they might not appear and are hesitant to announce anything or put them in some role because of fans.

People and their precious head canon...
So cute.
Though about everyone hating it if they SAW their PC, it can be just as bad as a mention; if they are going to be mentioned and what has been said about them has to be taken litterally, so no room for "other interpretations" they may or may not do things that you don't want your Warden or Hawke to do. I can see people going bat**** insane because, just a stupid, random example, Warden breaks up with LI (bonus points if it's a King or Queen consort, multiplier if they're the faithfull kind!) and became a pirate with Isabella (extra EXP if they weren't interested in women originally), causing Isabella to cheat on Hawke (Triple points if Hawke and Isabella swore to be together forever). Ofcourse I doubt that'll happen, but that's the most obvious example I can think of.
Soooo...
Thoughts on these "mentions" everyone seems to like? (oh and no "My PCs aren't going to be mentioned" offtopic crap please)

Also every warden who is alive has vanished no matter what position you had in the world or how important they were, if you are king or queen you mysteriously disappear as well there are no exceptions sory.
If they appear or not is completely up to them but our reactions should be based on how well they do handle them IF they show up or how bad it turns out.
Edit
As for romances I imagine they are still completely active and out of our hands since they recently said that you can't romance someone who your warden or hawke romanced as the inquisitor.

Bioware is making early preparations for Hawke/Warden to return as playable characters in DA4 with only a few references in Inquisition.
Don't put anything past game devs. They might think it funny to give you exactly that. Then where would you be, hmmm?

Unless you missed DA:A and Witch Hunt, you were still running errands for people. Golems was nothing but a big errand.

Big thing is that both of them are also leaders, the Warden more so than Hawke but both are leaders and I really don't see them working under a more inexperienced leader. I can see them working with the Inquisitor temporarily but not join the inquisition. In Exile wrote...

The Warden and Hawke led a small warband, but that was it. They never led sizable organizations. We can quible about what happened in Amaranthine, but the majority of the time it came down to the Warden leading a small warband to murder things.
Being an agent means nothing more than running quests murdering things, which both Hawke and the Warden are very good at. In fact, probably the only thing either is good at.

They could easily choose to work with the Inquisitor as "agents", it doesn't really matter what they call it as long as it's clear that they are allies and not his lackeys.
Telling the Inquisitor to **** off when he asks asks for their help in stopping a threat to all of Thedas, just because they can't be in "charge" of it all would make them idiots on par with the Illusive Man in ME3 if you ask me.
There's also an important distinction a lot of people choose to ignore in their "head canon", you are not the King/Queen of Ferelden - you are the Prince/Princess-Consort, which means you basically get to sit there and look pretty next to the rightfull heir.
Still a pretty big deal, but the Warden's edicts can still be overwritten by Alistaire/Anora if the writers really wanted to do something with Ferelden - or even with getting a particularly stuck up Warden to help the Inquisitor.
