Sometimes on Gold if with poorly set up pugs though. (Limited team synergy, heavy weapons on power-based classes, etc...)

so that begs a question, have you ever done it without Consumables but used a Gear?
In farm lobbies when FB:W/G/G was notorious, yes.
But now? Never. I always equip at least three level 1 consumables or a level IV ammo Power.
And why not? Every player has tons of that stuff yling around - far more than needed.
I can carry better, if need be. The match goes faster. Less chance of a fail, etc. pp.
You know, you can´t take those Cyclonic modulators with you to hell/heaven.
Also: I am a **** when it comes to people joining with a mattock IV and no consumables equipped, flipping themselves ready immediately. I don´t start the match until that guy /gal either equips something, one of us gets votekicked or I finally cave in, because nobody seems to care and would rather risk a failrun at wave 9/10 instead of getting to extraction. <_<

When you go to Hell (and, if you're on BSN, the odds are pretty high that you will), you will find the shelves well stocked with Cryo Rounds IV.

We were going to play an all volus silver match for fun and as a walm up, since we hadn't played for a week, then the host stealth switched to gold without telling the rest of us.
None of us had decent stuff on, it was just horrible.
I was using a volus adept with a widow, and even the nemesis could survive headshots with a smidge of health left.
We really had to work to earn our credits.
The fact that we kept getting hack and 4 device objectives didn't help, the swarms of phantoms and dragoons seemed unending.

Max storable capacity is 255, like with rupees.Izak609 wrote...
All the time; as I'm bound to run out of the ones I want and use, I don't like relying on consumable bonuses. I prefer to use them just for fun, rarely and arbitrarily. Besides, I want to see if they max out at two-hundred-and-fifty-five like equipment does, and if maxing on them grants more character bonuses, useful upgrades, or if it just keeps coming but stops piling up.
(Wonder if anyone will get that?)
But I'm fairly sure the store will just keep giving you more, which you will lose when you switch the game off.
The reason being, the store has to be able to give maxed manefest players something when they go to the store, so something needs to not stop dropping in packs when maxed.
Character cards would have been better for the N7 boosters, but that would make the store even slower than it is now, since each loot "reroll" slows the process down.

Even power heavy classes like asari adepts will help the team by strapping on a bit of ammo or a amp of some kind.

One Gold+ you ought to strap on at least one consumable. Otherwise you're an a*s. Make a token effort to compete and put on some cryo ammo, ffs.

I cant speak for everyone, but I personally don't just because I like to always use my raw ability, and don't like to rely on limited supply, temporary buffs. Now I always put good equipment on in platinum, and if I didn't feel comfortable that I could carry a team through gold with my character I would as well. Now, does that make me a bad person?

Otherwise I always, always make a point to use equipment. It's there to be used. Using it shows that you're serious, committed. So many people can't be bothered; they're stingy and they're just content to do jack-all, bleed out and let others do the work. I have no time for those people whatsoever.
I'm happy to play with anyone - even N71s if they're using equipment. I don't care if people on here say that they don't need it to get high scores. You probably don't. I'm just talking about the principle of things. Make some effort.
But, anyways; equipment makes you more powerful, so why wouldn't you use it?

Masher7 pls.
Given that you have about 150+ of all of your consumables... yes, you're a bad person for not strapping on some of it for gold matches. Even some Disruptor Ammo I will have a dramatic effect on damage output thanks to the extra free tech bursts it generates.
Limited supply, LOL. Here's what your N7 says...

You have thousands of consumables? What are you saving them for, to sell on Ebay?
Anything you can accomplish without can be accomplished easier and quicker with, leading to more matches, which leads to more credits.
"I'm so good I don't need" is an absurd argument covered on this forum many times.
By this logic, why do you use your characters skill points? You should leave them unspent, because you are good enough to win with only 2 skill points spent period ... this is the same logic as not using consumables .. deliberately gimping yourself.
Currently, on my al account I only have Disruptor and Phasic rounds, but I use the Asari Valkryie alot .. neither of these ammos has any benefit. But you better believe when I do get a Cryo I ammo, I will use it, and the difference in DPS to armored units is significant.

Reason: you search for plat game, armed and equipped to the teeth - outcome is you land in an ongoing bronze match.
If I do land in a plat match and there's too much lag, unless I'm using a character that's not affected by latency that much, I'll stay. Otherwise I leave. That way you can minimise the loss of good equipment for stupid reasons.
