I was Joking around with some friends about how if Hawke wasn't around in Inquisition, and Fenris was, I'd totally attempt to make my Inquisitor seduce my already romanced Fenris. That got me thinking about how I would actually feel if Leliana was romancable despite already being in a realationship with my Warden. I mean in universe it counts as cheating, but it kinda falls under that table-top RPG thing. Where once you stop playing a character and make a new one, everyone has the same relationship with that person. (Give my stuff to that handsome bard in the back of the tavern.) My Warden would totally feel betrayed and by exstension I the player would as well if I saw Leliana kissing my Inquisitor.

Unless it was to kill my inquisitor, then Cousland Warden, totally understands. Bard buisness and all that jazz. What about you guys? How would both you and your Warden/Hawke feel if the Inquisitor started to make moves on their significant others?

It's been suggested before, but I'd rather avoid it.

I would HATE if Bioware did that. Unless said Love Interest was Isabela then I would just chalk it up to Isabela being Isabela.

Dear god, no. That'd lead to nothing but disaster.

Seeing as import bugs where it wasn't acknowledged was enough to soil my DA2 playthrough a bit, I have no doubt the same would happen with DA:I. :S

My warden would be open to a tresome. My Hawke would kill the inquisitor as horrible as she could.

I would feel that I would rather have a new LI in each game to match the new PC.

I thought this would be a case of role-playing. Inquisitor and LI are getting bored so the LI pretends she's having an affair by having the Inquisitor dress up as someone else and sport a fake mustache. He would then sneak into his own room in his own keep just to be with his LI.

But what if the Inquisitor already has a mustache?  PLOT HOLE!!!

Leave old game romances in those games where they belong. I trust BioWare writers are fully capable of writing fantastic and interesting new romances, and not having to dip into characters who were potentially important to previous PCs.

No, just no. :/

I don't know if there has been an "official" word one way or the other.  But I think Bioware understands to crap storm that would come from doing something like this in the game.

Well, my Warden is a pretty loyal guy but my Hawke will flirt with anything on legs... However, I can't see either of them being very happy with a cheater situation. Warden would be devastated, Hawke would try to joke his way through it, then the mask would slip and a huge confrontation would happen.

I don't know who my Inquisitor will turn out to be yet, so I can't comment on it.

As the player, I'd try be curious to try it once with each character I could try it on to experience it, then promptly reload my saves after feeling terribly bad.

I'd only be happy with it in future games if it were an optional choice. But I would learn to accept it if it became canonical and necessary to the story.

Did you see how the six people who romanced Jacob in Me2 reacted?

It seems that Leliana will appear in DAI. She might even be a companion.
I hope that she will be available if the Warden dies killing the Old God or if he hasn't romanced her. The Warden may even die in Inquisition or during the events in the next book, The Masked Empire. This would make for an interesting "grieving widow - Jaheira" romance between the Inquisitor and Leliana.

Mike once said "no cheating" (I believe in response to a question about Morrigan being a companion and romance option again), so I imagine it's something they're not interested in doing.

It's not an option I would explore, unless the split with the old protagonist were somehow done well enough that it truly felt like they shouldn't be together anymore.

NO

by doing this not only would they put a sour taste in peoples mouths about DA:I, but they'd ruin all of said characters content in the past games too. why do that when you can just use new characters?

Already did. It was not very interesting.
Romanced Zevran in DAO, then Hawke did him in DA2. If the Inquisitor does him, then I guess it has become a tradition.
(On second thought, I should have made that Hawke romance Isabela, since I'm pretty sure she had a threesome with the Warden in DAO. Then it would all even out...)

If Fenris was in your party... I will die happy. And probably steal him from Hawke (although that will ruin my fantasy regarding Hawke x Fenris)

Well, it'd be amusing if the Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor ended up having a random hook up with Isabela at some point, as part of her nefarious plan to sleep with everyone in Thedas.

That said, it'd be good to have some consistency from our romance partners.

Unromanced Isabela hooking up with the Inquisitor makes sense, while a romanced Isabela who has genuinely developed feelings for Hawke, I can't see her cheating. It was a major part of her character development and it'd be a shame if it was dropped for a cheap fling.

And I'm hoping that the Warden and a romanced Morrigan are still together after a decade. Even if we don't see the Warden or the OGB, would be nice to know that they're still a family.

Only if you can kick 'em to the curb afterwards so they can go crawling back to Hawke.

I'm sorry, but even in fantasy-land, Isabela has already died of VD. I don't want her or any of her skanky, undead parts anywhere near my Inquisitor. :pinched:

See Jacob and see the outrage people had about him and his the least popular LI. Imagine if a more popular LI cheated, this forum would explode.

In regards to the Jacob thing, that would be a LI who cheated on you with a NPC, which is rage worthy, I think the rage would be different if kept on insisting to one of the characters. And while I know this feature is not likely to every be placed in, and I agree that new characters are better, I was just wondering how people would react or feel if this would happen.

I know there were a lot of people were sad that they couldn't romance Aveline, while not a character you romanced, it does bring the prospect of persuading someone to cheat. I think such a romance would be interesting and with the newest article out from gameinformer, I think this is a romance archetype that would be fun to explore.

As silly as the idea is, I'd rather they not do that.

Also, there was waaaay more wrong with the Jacob romance than just the cheating, lol.
