Let me tell you something:

Besides, My Warden would be heart broken if Leliana cheated on her.  Then hunt down the inquisitor.  Same for my Hawke if the ****tern forgets she's taken

Dear god, no. That'd lead to nothing but disaster.

Seeing as import bugs where it wasn't acknowledged was enough to soil my DA2 playthrough a bit, I have no doubt the same would happen with DA:I. :S

Though I'm not one to ask for LI or romance coddling, I have to agree, it'd be an absolutely terrible idea to allow "cheating" from your LIs like that, mainly because it would infuriate far, far too many fans to make it worthwhile. Then, it comes to character personality; for example, an unhardened Leliana, or Anders, or Alistair, or whomever would possibly reappear, would be completely going against their personalities if they were to "cheat" on the Warden, or Hawke, with the Inquisitor.

I could see Isabella doing it, or Leliana, etc. if they weren't romanced, but it just wouldn't make a bit of sense for some characters to behave in such a way. And, of course, add on gigantic flame wars on BSN if such things did occur, and you have a disasterous option I hope Bioware doesn't go with.

My Warden would be devastated on the inside, just like she was when she chose to convince Alistair to lay with Morrigan. She'll hide her emotions, because she knows staying with the King (as a mistress at that) was her choice.. If she ending up being "the other one", she would bitterly accept it. For a time. Then, she'd probably leave the kingdom and her duties without a word or a trace. She likes travelling, anyway. I guess one day she'd just never come back.

Hawke, I see her being very angry. She would question how he could just lay with someone after all she did for him out of love. And WAITING for him for *three* years, how could he. After the argument, they'd possibly separate but I don't know if she could resist Fenris's puppy eyes for long.

*I* would be so disappoint. ._. I hope it never happens.

Meh, Warden and Leliana are pretty much already broken up in DA2, so I couldn't really complain if she moved on.

Aside from it being ooc for some LI, l can already imagine the board being flooded with character 'x is a w-h-o-r-e threads', while some romance extremist might mistakenly be arrested for putting a hit out on their former digie crush.

I kind of prefer new romances, or continuing romances if there are returning characters. So if my Warden that romanced Leliana showed up and Leli was in the party, I'd want them to still be in the romance. I'm not against it in principle, though. It'd make for some juicy storytelling drama. I would feel like I was betraying my other character, though. It'd depend on if I considered the relationship solid or not, I think. I don't play DA from a first person roleplaying perspective, so for me it's more looking at my characters from the outside and what I think would be the most satisfying story. Some of them that aren't as attached, I might let it play out. Otherwise, no.

Either way, I want past romances to remain persistent in the game world, even if we break them in a future game. There should be story consequences if that could happen.

What about Sebastian, especially, if like me, you let Anders live after blowing up the Chantry?

I think letting Anders live was basically breaking up with Sebastian. What ever romantic feelings I had for anyone, those would go away if he/she spared the murderer of my mother figure, who also killed serveral of my siblings in faith and ignited a bloody massacre in my home city.

If he moved on after that, I certainly wouldn't blame him.

What about you guys? How would both you and your Warden/Hawke feel if the Inquisitor started to make moves on their significant others?

I'm apt to do many things with the story that some players might not like, but putting their PC in a situation where they're forced into cognitive dissonance-- such as having them romance someone who, in their timeline, is supposed to be connected to a previous PC... no, even I have my limits. ;)

When my Hawke fell for Isabela, she wasn't expecting much in the way of monogamy.

My Warden Commander would likely be fine with Leliana sleeping with others as a means to manipulate them or get close enough for an assassination attempt.

Was there any doubt? Although I'm sure he (or other writers) will still find a way to rip my heart out of my chest and make me cry in DAI. :crying:

That is indeed what we pay them to do.

On topic: I wouldn't mind, as long as I can romance both the previous LI and the previous PC simultaneously. (Which is probably never going to happen.)
