If this means that neither Cassandra or Vivienne are romance options, then good. I certainly wasn't planning on banging either of them if I had the option.

Now don't hold back on how you really feel.

Not holding back on anything. I find Cassandra about as appealing as Miley Cyrus at the VMA's.

The purpose of sex appeal is not sex appeal. That doesn't make any sense.

I'll probably be sorry I asked, but what is the purpose of sex appeal then?

What do you think it is?

Showing mommy and daddy that you won't be restricted by their antiquated rules?
Being proud of the hard work you've invested into your health and fitness?
A deeply considered philosophy with regards to personal freedom and expression that may however rub against societal norms?
A dangerous trap that started once when you were young and thought it would be a laugh, but now it's become expected of you and you're sort of afraid that nobody will like you if you stop doing it?
A good way to make money?

Writing is easy. Writing well is difficult.

The author of the article used the wrong sentence.

You mean, a statement means literally the thing it says it means?

If that statement is literally true, then yes, it would confirm that Cassandra, Verric, and Vivianne weren't romancable.

He meant 'BioWare has not announced which characters can be romanced yet.'

All I'm hearing is "The purpose of fuel is not to act as fuel. That makes no sense." Sex appeal is meant to draw people in david, it's grabs the attention makes the intended audience start paying attention to characters/people. It's a basic concept of films, comic, and yes video games.

No. That's not true. The primary purpose of sex appeal is not to draw people in.

Consider EDI. Her body never shows up in advertising. It's not on the box. As far as I know, BioWare didn't release any information pre-release about it. She's not a love interest.

And yet, she's still attractive. Why is that, then? How could she 'draw people in' when she's invisible?

lol I know, crazy

You're making the same mistake the author of the article presumably made.

If the characters haven't been announced, then we have not yet seen those characters (and therefore the characters we have seen are not romance options).

If they haven't announced which characters can be romanced, then any of the characters who have already been announced could still be romance options (they simply haven't announced romances yet).

The reason this thread exists is valid. The author of the article done goofed if what they truly meant to say was that BioWare simply hasn't announced romance options yet. They wrote a statement (which you then repeated) that doesn't actually say what they meant to say.

Thank you. :)

Oh my god. This is not that hard to grasp.

Characters cannot possible 'draw people in' when people don't even know about them. People are not going to buy a product full of attractive women if they don't know attractive women exist in it. Is that logic clear enough?
