I'm glad to here that nobody thinks that's the only purpose. So what are the other purpose or purposes, again?

Great. We have people admitting sex appeal isn't all about marketing. We're making progress. Let's keep going. What other purpose is there?

Why do you people keep responding to and feeding this fellow? It's an amusing sight, but just stop already, and he'll get bored.

I think he actually believes what he's saying though.
Cause it's funny.

Not resitricted to marketing. Sex appeal is used to generate interest in characters, when some of these characters end up in adverts they simultaniously generate interest in the product.

In general, the most sexualized major character will be the one most prominently featured in marketing for Bioware games. In ME2, it was Miranda. In DA2, Isabela. In ME3, Ashley.

Take it up with the ME3 guys, sweety. :kissing: The scariest thing is that someone actually spent time sculping/drawing that ******. I cannot begin to express the depth of my traumatization upon seeing it.

I'm unsure why people are so hostile to this. It's simply confronting the reality that characters in fiction are very often quite attractive.

Surely nobody here seriously belives attractiveness plays no role in their perception of characters? In fiction and in real life?

All I'm doing is acknowledge there's more to this than 'developers are lazy and stupid so they give characters bewbs cause 13 year old boys love bwebs.' Is that so threatening to people?

You're very limited with the fiction you're exposed to then.

Stop replying to him already, gosh. You kids must not understand what 'trolling' is. It's done in other ways besides saying "LOL UMAD"; some trolling is more inconspicuous, but whether you believe me or not, that's up to you, I suppose.

No, it's not threatening to people.

It's also not exactly true. Base titillation is assuredly one of their big drivers.

Hah, that's quite funny.

Oh, you're not joking? Well, gauge all of his posts together, his love to bring irrelevant and controversial topics into unrelated topics, his love of carrying on derailing arguments, and you have either a troll, an idiot, or both.

Hardly. The average player would never see that if they didn't look.

If EDI was 'fan service' and 'fetish fuel,' why was she not made a love interest? That seems like a fairly easy and obvious attempt to cash out on that if it was true.

Why was her dialogue concerning sex clearly written to be endearing and humerous instead of seductive?

Why was she absent from advertising? Why wouldn't the developers flaunt her if she was only made attractive to bring in attention?

You're going to have to define 'titillation' for me. Is every attractive character in fiction 'titillation'?
