Used to be some stigma attached to the TGI ..probably still has that for some players because of the stim packs despite the nerf. Haven't seen too many solo records with Edi bot either probably for similar reason

I think we're mistaking 'best character in the game' with 'most noob friendly character in the game'.

either way, TGI pretty much relies on having high level UR assault rifles to deal his maximum damage, whilst the GI can pretty much make do with whatever you give him.

Kind of surprised no one has even brought up the KroGuard or even the Slayer. Both can output a pretty good amount of DPS and the KroGuard is quite tanky.

I am a fan however of the Batarian Solider, but I am not too sure if he ranks that high. As for the TGI I dislike his dodge, it is too over the top.

Slightly bamboozled by the fact that no one has mentioned anything like the Valkyrie with Incendiary Reegar.

Kroguard probably because of his reliance on the reegar to REALLY shine. Otherwise he'd just be an extremely tanky vanguard (kind of like the juggernaut). 

Slayer is probably too squishy, and has a lot more risk associated with playing him (not saying he doesn't deal the pain). 

Batarian Soldier is definitely up there. Incredible Mook Control with some amazingly OP AOE armor eating capabilities whilst being quite tanky and not being subject to the slowdown from certain weapons (i.e Reegar)? Yes Please! 

Valkyrie probably for the same reasons as the slayer.

I brought up the Kroguard. I would say kroguard is a top 3 character for sure. Slayer, definitely not. Sure, he has crazy damage output, but he's got such a risky strategy and a glitched charge, there's no way he can be the best. And the Batarian soldier is too prone to phantom sync kills to be the top character.

are we forgetting phantoms can sneak up on you, spawn behind you, or that you can just be in a bad situation with not enough mobility to escape, even with blades?

^^^ Phantom should never be able to close on the Batsol because constant stagger from blades + well timed falcon punch. Yes I guess you could be caught unawares.

I think you're letting your experience with bad randoms cloud your judgment. I can fall asleep while playing the TGI, he's just that good. He can cloak, stagger everything with overload, kill everything in sight, and has an instant heal button. The only way I can die with him is getting constant stagger locked.

hell, i bet a Destroyer/Lancer could beat your TGI/Harrier. No ammo runs the whole match = more time for killing things

 Probably because you're on Xbox and lemon00 is on PC.  If you want to convince me though just solo a gold match with the TGI and post the scoreboard.  Xbox needs to bring it with that character anyway since their fastest time on the Hall of Fame board is like 40+ minutes compared to ~20 for PS3 and PC.

I'm gonna make an educated guess that a GI+Talon (the most optimal GI out there) isn't nearly as effective on Xbox/PS3 compared to the PC thanks to the lolcontrols. me0120 said so when I discussed solo plat with him. TGI+Harrier is no doubt superior in an environment where showering stuff with bullets is more effective than trying to quickly switch between targets.

The AIU should be up there as well. Speed, shotguns, Repair Matrix, Snap Freeze...it's got it all to be good in every situation, whether team games or solo.

And if we're going by best as in the fastest solo, Geth Trooper and Kroguard take the title.

I think the GI talon kills stuff faster than the TGI harrier
and I'm on the PS3

The Batarian Soldier has one of the best skill sets to take out phantoms no matter what weapon he's using
I'm not sure why you would think he is any more prone to snyc kills than other kits

I can solo thunderdome in half the time you will ever do and can duo it in half the time you can do it as well.

Gi/Talon is awesome, but I prefer the GI/Hurricane, which imo, is better....

edit; perhaps I should say," I am better with it"...tough call...I used to play GI/talon all the time, and then I got my hurricane to X, and tried that, and was like whoa that was unbelievable...
