untempered optimism, eh?
50 hours plus of single-playered goodness (without dlc)
The reactivity of Alpha Protocol
The epic, sprawling feel of Baldur's Gate 2
The character interactions of both Dragon Age games
The opportunity for fist-pumping "Frak Yeah!" conclusions like the first two Mass Effect games for good outcomes. And ME3 endings only for bad outcomes
Old mysteries solved
New mysteries discovered

This pretty much sums it up for me. I really love this franchise and want it to be as successful as possible for a long time to come.Mila-banilla wrote...

I hope to be confused in the beginning, sad or sympathetic in the middle, angry towards the climax, worried at the climax, and content with a dash of satisfaction at the end. Then, desiring to play again.

yes! Bioware you want to be the best game ever? Why ride a dragon, when in the end you can become one! Glorious battles in thedas? Gives destructible environments a new meaning when your a big ass dragon destroying stuff!
Ok, sorry maybe got a little to carried away. Lets start off as a wayvern! Lol.

To have my pre-order copy hand delivered by the female VO team. Ok; fine... The single ones!

Hoping for complex decisions like they promise. I want my decisions to have consequences and them not always to be good. I want tough moral choices. I want to be able to play things more than one way.

That I have time to actually play it.

Curly. Hair. And I think armor customization is confirmed, right? I hope it's in-depth.

Any one of these
Laura Bailey as PC
Morri as LI for DAI (if not romanced in DAO)
Quarian Dragon Armor
Being able to change armor colors
Being able to turn into a Dragon
Or being able to ride a Dragon

No walkthrough-crutching, like in DA2. No need to check each quest's walkthrough for approval(so I have 100% for each NPC in the end); no need to check every location's walkthrough for hidden resources/treasure. It was really exhausting. All loot/clickable stuff should be clearly visible, and all "full friendship/full romance" NPC goals - easily achievable, without heavy micromanaging(hello, non-party Isabela that I had to take on seven or so quests to get her full approval!).

Mostly that there are at least two attractive female LIs. And a player-owned castle would be nice, but I can do without that more easily than the LIs.

My greatest hope for DA:I is that I feel connected to my party members just as strongly as I loved Bethany in DA2. She was probably my favourite character across all the different games and DLCs because I could feel the love that Hawke had for his sister. When she got blighted in my first play through, I had to be the strong big brother and comfort her until the end when I ended her suffering myself. I've never had that kind of a connection to a made up character before, and I would love to see that kind of emotional connection to all of the party members, whether it's in a bond of brothers-in-arms or a companion you just Love to Hate.
The second thing I would love to see would be a Qunari Companion that lets us experience them for more than just warriors, but as a people.
Badass Armour for All would be Fun too!

YAY POSITIVITY!
I'm easy to please - I want incredibly sexy writing. And poignant pathos. But those usually go together.

My greatest hope would be more of the same great storytelling and interesting characters to join my Inquisitor on her adventure. I would love to learn more about the world. Also, it looked like the Dales were included in the map this time, so if there was a great deal of content featuring elves I would be VERY happy indeed.

1 - That they'll manage to attach me to a cast of characters as much as they did in DA:O.
2 - That the Inquisitor will feel like as much our own character as possible.
3 - Your PC's race will have considerable effect.
4 - I'll grow to like my Inquisitor like I did my Warden.
Most of those are sufficient to please me.

They're pretty much been doing everything I'd hoped they do from the looks of things. Taking their time to make it, larger more varied environments, different engine, better graphics, more character choice and agency.
I guess my main hope is simply that they deliver somewhere close to what they've discussed thus far, then all my expectations are pretty much fulfilled.
