[Random Fun] What is Your (Personal) Greatest Hope for DA:I?

Particularly, I'd like to really get into what it's like for my character to be an elven mage, rather than getting a few issues from the mage basket and a few issues from the elf basket and not combing the two. I don't mind that though. I'd just be delighted to play through as an elven mage and have it feel completely different from a dwarven rogue or human warrior.

That even years after the game releases, and I'm on my 40th playthrough, that I can make some different decision and have a new line of dialogue or something that I hadn't runinto before.
Also that if I do/say something that is totally against/for something a companion stands for....that they react rather than just stand there and do nothing.

I guess next on that list would have to be - a Toolset, but from what I'm hearing around here, that seems... unlikely.
(To say the least.)
I *expect* great voice acting, interesting cast, solid storyline and re-playability so they're not really "wishes".
What I would like to see though is attention to the little details - towns that look like people live in them. Homes that are more than half-empty shells. Everything felt so barren in the last game - I want to wander through dense forests, wade through reed-chocked swamps, ride though sweeping grasslands...

Better writing then Saints Row IV
Good luck to the writing staff.

I don't know, since this is the DA team I would say maybe?
I see potential in some of the writing staff....
But then again it's kinda sad when the parody does a whole romance in almost just one line better then majority of Bioware's serious ones.

You say that and you make the money guys on EA cry bitter tears about the 39 games they didn't sell you while you were playing the same game 40 times. Without - gasp - giving them any more money. The horror!!!!

Just to be clear: not once did I say that ALL Americans hate the French. I was referring to those Americans (and whoever else) that hate the French... i.e, specifically those people that hate the French.
Oh I know.

Here my greatest hopes for DAI:
-A “world feeling alive”: something ala Baldur’s Gate, where you fell like you can do whatever you want to do (bring with you a thief for open locks or pickpocketing, go visit every home, fight or talk to everybody, try to “take” something or sleep in open spaces without being spotted by guards, walking in a town and listen to the merchant voices in background, or discover that shops are open only in the daytime and so on). I also hope there’ll be the day/night cycle and weather effects.
-Different enemies with different strategies: again Baldur’s Gate comes to my mind (you could kill trolls only using fire or acid; magic golems could be damaged only by non-magical weapons; greater werewolves had a great regeneration skill; some creatures could be damaged only with high-power weapons…). I think this kind of approach is really interesting and tactical, ‘cause you really have to prepare before a fight (wear the right equipment, choose the right weapon, select the right tactic and so on).
-Bosses: I hope to see more interesting bosses in the game, with unique appearances (such as Witherfang, The Queen of the BlackMarsh, the Inferno Golem, Branka, The Ancient Rock Wraith, etc.) suggestive intros (thinking at the brood-mother…) and requiring special strategies to be defeated, also involving the environment.

(1) Bioware/EA manage their expectations about distribution goals for this franchise and keep this a long-lived story driven franchise with romances, kinda like the long lived British TV series "Coronation Street"
and,
(2) that we, the fans, also manage our expectations and NOT hit the "fireworks button" because there is a gameplay feature or big inconsistency we don't like. Instead we enjoy the immersive story and rich characters (I relished DAO, DA2, ME1,2, and 3 - each for their own unique setups).
In short, DAI becomes a symbol for a successful rich deep niche franchise.
Cheers!

*ahem*
What I hope is that it's a long game with dozens of hours of content that has a plot whose twists and turns feel natural and fluid, full of awesome moments, tearjearkers, a genuine sense of humor, and heartwarming stuff. That there's reactivity to choices, not just different flavors along the same path like Mass Effect 3 seemed to be at the very end.
I hope that the arling of Amaranthine is a visitible region, along with Denerim. I hope that there's a nice balance of old faces and new friends/enemies.
I also hope there's 'weight' to our choice of race and class, along with specialization.

That it will capture the feeling of Dragon Age: Origins with a substantial exploration mechanic that didn't really exist in DA:O.
