Ok so if we look back at DAO and DA2, they each had some sort of a balance of party members more or less. Since the PC could be any class I have listed it too.  For example:

DAO:

Mage (3 possible) - Wynne, Morrigan, PC
Warrior (4 possible excluding DLC and dog) - Alistair/Loghain, Sten, Oghren,  PC
Rogue (3 possible)  - Zevran, Leliana,  PC

Awakening:

Mage (3 possible) - Anders, Velanna, PC
Warrior (3 possible) - Justice, Oghren, PC
Rogue(3 possible) - Sigrun, Nathaniel, PC

DA2:

Mage (4 possible) - Anders, Merrill, Bethany, PC
Warrior (4 possible) - Aveline, Fenris, Carver, PC
Rogue (3 possible excluding DLC) - Isabela, Varric, PC

So now that we know there are going to be a total of nine companions (excluding DLC) who do you speculate the other 6 will be?  3 are already confirmed.

DAI:

Mage - Vivienne, PC
Rogue - Varric, PC
Warrior - Cassandra, PC <possible Qunari and/or Grey Warden companion, though not confirmed yet>

I personally think that the remaining warriors will either be Cullen (because he could be a polar opposite to Cassandra) and the Grey Warden OR Qunari (I highly doubt they will give us both of them unless they leave out Cullen or any other possible warrior).  I really think that there will be a choice between having the Grey Warden OR Qunari or maybe even Cullen OR Cassandra. 

As for Rogues, that's pretty open. I don't see them bringing back Leliana or Zevran as a companion. Although I could be wrong.  I doubt they will bring back Isabela or Sebastian.  Zev, Leli, and Isabela will probably be NPC's.  Since Sebastian is optional DLC i highly doubt he will be in the main game. 

As for Mages, I am pretty unsure on this as well.  I feel strongly however, that there will be a blood mage apostate of some sort to contrast Vivienne.  My pick would be Jowan.  Merrill will also more than likely become an NPC.
