I seek change in the social and legal environment just like millions of other people out there.....that is my personal opinion and stance on the matter. There is nothing that says I can't express that stance as long as it applies to the issue at hand and it does.

Your deffinition of "hate speech" is quite different from reality. I don't say it's hate speech when someone says they want same gender marriages legailized because it's not.....it's simply an opposing view point. Disagreement doesn't constitute "hate speech".

Could someone explain the Fox incident to me? I´m from Germany and I didn´t heard of this till now, I know what Fox is but what they have did? They couldn´t do more than reporting about it or am I wrong on this?

You sir are promoting hatred towards console gamers, which in fact is anyone's choice to play on PC or console. So if you don't want to be part of a conversation with hatred, please keep your PC > Console mentality out of this. Kay thanks bye.

On topic however, as long as they don't tie it to achievements I don't care what they allow. I'd just rather not have to sleep with a man in order to unlock some reward.

FOX thought the game was a rape simulator and got an expert in making stuff up who had never played the game come on to back them up. They had one guy who had actually played the game on there, and they shut him up fairly quickly. It had nothing to do with homosexuality, only with Liara's rocking side boob.

You outright said you wanted to completely deny homosexuals the ability to have relationships, and that the sooner homosexuality was eradicated from all video games and media, the better the world would be for it.  As if it was some sort of disease that needed purging.

Homosexual relationships are essentially a sexual fetish.  Just because it's a socially accepted sexual fetish (mostly) does not mean that he is inherently wrong for not wanting that fetish practiced.  Do you think paedophiles should be allowed to engage in their own sexual preferences?  Probably not.  Is it so hard to believe that someone could view homosexuality in the same light?  That's how it was viewed for many years before widespread social change since the 60s.

omg wow this is some pretty heavy stuff to do for a glimpse of a boob oO I can remember having mass effect on our RTL news and they were pretty fascinated about it, espescially the caster chick looked pretty horny after that

It was just some  News guys who covered it for 48 hours who didn't give a crap about the game or the content, and nothing more than filler for thier news cycle. No one cared that much, their coverange was nothing but good for Bioware and free advertisement.

Actually I have nothing wrong with pedophilia, in and of itself. I have a big problem with child molestation, though.

And of course there's a simple and rational reason you can't compare child molestors to homosexuals. Child molestors are molesting children, meaning that their victim can't give informed consent.

Informed consent is one of the ideas that all definitions for crime are based on. Rape is unconsentual sex. Etc. But two homosexuals of consenting age, who consent to sex, are not doing anything wrong. This is basic and logical.

To demand that individuals be denied their right to do whatever they want between consenting adults is hate speech. Period.

You're right, that is what I said. My reasoning is that homosexuality can and usually is between consenting adults. Whereas pedophilic relations involve a minor. Minors shouldn't be expected to be able to give informed consent. Pedophilia is wrong, homosexuality isn't.

I think that's just it.  The topic has NOT been confirmed, ever, one way or the other, regarding m/m romances in the game.  Their only confirmation was a half and half response on f/f romances, which could be taken to mean a number of things.  If Bioware were to flat out state in clear language on the matter, I promise you the bulk of these threads would rapidly disappear.  Folks who were bothered by the lack would take it to their customer feedback, folks who weren't wouldn't be arguing with those that were.  There's a fair amount of reasoning behind not telling us of course, in that both sides still buy the game and no specific group has the chance to boycott it before release, but yes it makes for a fair amount of forum drama as a result.

That being said, I think it's noteworthy that there -is- so much discussion on the matter, in that it shows just how vocal and large that group is.  As part of Bioware's fan base, making their presence known shows just how much a precentage of that fan base they are.  It's a social issue and people on both sides of the fence have stron emotions and opinions tied to their beliefs, but recognizing its there and trying to get differing views to coexist peacefully is a far cry better than silence and trying to pretend other viewpoints don't exist.
