you can level from 10-50 basically just doing flashpoints/warzones and class quests. I've leveled many characters while avoiding the BS side quests.
Roll a sorcerer or Operative healer, you will get many instaqueues as there are too many dps around. I wouldnt play tank unless you are comfortable with the game.

I barely do FPs so Warzones is pretty much out of the question. I'm currently playing tank as a Sith Juggernaut.

Based on past experience, one may play solo, avoid PvP, and skip Ops and WZ's if they wish. I only ran some FP's alone to see the stories; most were below my Lvl for much XP, but I only really wanted the stories.
But based on reading other posts, the most enjoyment seems to had with co-op play with a small group or Guild.

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better
Operating System:
Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later
RAM:
Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM
Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM
Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM.
Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include:
ATI X1800 or better
nVidia 7800 or better
