Here, have some heretical love between my trooper and Lana

Hello everyone, I have something to bring up to you.
After hearing the sound of my lightsaber striking down my enemies for a total time of around a year now, I've begun to notice that the lightsabers in combat sound...weak.
Here's what I mean.
The basic attacks for lightsabers mainly make fizzing and popping noises as they strike the enemy. However, in all my abilities (I may be wrong with saying "all" but I'm fairly certain about this), the lightsaber sounds are stronger; they have more "umph" to them (a good example is Master Strike/Ravage).
I realize that this is an MMO, and the basic attacks are supposed to be relatively weak attacks compared to these abilities, but that doesn't mean that those basic attacks can't sound just as cool as the others. Using a lightsaber should make the player feel like a strong, fearless Jedi Knight, or a terrifying, powerful Sith Lord. Pops and fizzes do not give that same effect.
Thanks for reading. What do you guys think about this? Would it be possible for these sounds to be redone to have more "umph"?
Just reached Lv 55! Seems I'm half way through Makeb. (With the soloing buff and probably planet nerfs) I think I rather like this place, and the story is interesting enough.
After Makeb I'll take trips to Section X and Balsavis Bonus Series.

What I really want to know is how the awesome Ziost update lead to this.

Vitiate is probably this new Emperor. I think.
Unlikely. He's too powerful to have servants that aren't mind controlled.

It's just that then we'd have another immortal emperor who wants to conquer the galaxy. Familiar much?

That's why i'm so confused.

Makes two. And what's with calling you 'The Outlander' now? For a moment there I thought they were giving us a new PC.

Well you're a survivor of the obliteration of the Republic and the Empire so it makes some sense. It's also an excuse to give you a nickname they can use in dialog.

Ah, clever buggers! And after this we become Emperor, yes? ![]()
Got back into it to finish off my chars to 60 and maybe replay a story or two while the 12xp is up. I'd hoped to bask a bit with my newfound octo-60s but sadly, it'll be back to the level grind come October.
As for the expansion... I'm of two minds about it. First off this story-bend they're on is very exciting. Hell they even sprung for an ultra high def trailer like in the old days. As for the story itself, I actually had the idea of a third party of "neutral" Force-users arranged in a noble family type setting a long time ago. But having them be yet another hidden Empire with bonus immortal Emperor that wants to kill us... it feels like Bigger Jaws at this point.

Oh you sly dawg
I really like Lana, but they could do a better job with her character model. Atleast she looks unique.

Yeah, I'm hoping they improve a bit on her model in the expansion.

Yeah, that was a while ago. I have since succumbed to the dark side. ![]()

That was kinda implied for the sith warrior during the expansions. Not so sure about the other classes. Still need to play them.

Can't say I've ever been tempted to play the game, MMOs in general just don't live up their name for me.
I mean- how often do you actually interact with all those people running about? They may as well be glorified NPCs.

Only in flashpoint/pvp. I also do so whenever someone asks for help because i'm nice like that. That's about it though.

That is what bothers me: Might as well just be lobby sign ups for PvP and Co-Op. All PCs do otherwise is add to a region's bodycount save for the occasional moment of interaction outside of social instances which, while lovely as they are, are too few and far between. People are too busy questing, grinding loot, or going off to do something else.
Very few games that bill themselves as 'MMOs' actually deserve the name and these are ones that actually make you feel like you are one amongst many. . .its just a shame most of those games are PvP-centric and/or cutthroat in nature. I'm all for 'Jolly Co-Operation' at heart and there's not many games if not any at all that make you feel like you're fighting off a large, mutual (Computer-controlled) threat alongside many other (actually real) people.

That tends to be one of my biggest issues with them in general too. I'm just playing SWTOR for the stories though so it doesn't bother me much.

I shall continue this conversation with you tomorrow because I haven't slept for a few days and I am tired and what am I doing with my life good night slash morning I don't even know anymore.

Obviously, I can't interact with everyone but I am part of a guild and we do ops fairly regularly. Of course, if you PvP then you're bound to interact with them a lot more. ![]()
You know, while playing with my scoundrel it just hit me that it'd be cool if we could buy figures of our characters. Surely it can't be that hard with all those 3D printers around, right? ![]()
Here's my scoundrel by the way:
