Anyho, I completed Tython with my Consular. I like the mystery surrounding the story so far and Qyzen is fun to have around.

It's like the Sith flying into the middle of Republic space and trying to rebuild the Jedi Temple in their image. You just don't do that. And since some of the Chapter 2's are after the war has already begun, the Empire can do whatever it wants to that colony.

 
Since Taris was more-or-less explicitly meant as a staging area for attacking the Empire - by dint of its position vis-a-vis Imperial space and vis-a-vis major hyperlanes, and its almost total lack of value for any other purpose - that comparison isn't the best one. Hell, the Imperial Bonus Series there is all about eradicating the Republic's major power-projecting military bases there in the Tularan Marsh. I mean, obviously, Balmorra and Taris were meant to be directly contrasted: two planets deep in the other side's territory, left under odd jurisdiction due to the circumstances of the Peace of Coruscant, which serve as bones of contention for the entire truce and ultimately get flipped almost immediately upon the resumption of major hostilities. "Unfinished business" or something.

So from any point of view, even a relatively peace-loving Imperial would be crazy for not wanting to destroy the Taris colony. It's a direct threat to Dromund Kaas and the rest of the Stygian Nebula. What was stupid about the Imperial invasion of Taris was that they apparently decided to stay there, even though the site has marginal value and an enormous associated cost (rakghoul attacks). Yet they apparently did stay there, as per one of the novels and the Makeb Imperial storyline (which features a Taris science station).

Also, y'know, Balmorra for Taris is a really bad trade for the Imps. They lose a major manufacturing world and get a rakghoul-infested s**thole.
 

The issues with BH is that a pure professional of full dark sider has it's story issues due to Gault. Thankfully my BH doesn't suffer from that. Not sure about act 2 or 3 yet though.

Yeah, Gault is really hard to shoe-horn into the crew in a way that makes sense. At worst, it's utterly immersion-shattering.

Skadge is nearly as bad as Gault; while the Hunter's reasons for taking him along aren't quite so bad, he's significantly more obnoxious. Gault at least makes an effort to be useful.

His name before he took that title would still be in the records and known to the dark council. When they disowned him, it makes sense to call him Vitiate.

Well, subscribers are granted a lot of Basic commendations throughout the class story, which you can use to buy some basic gear on the fleet to advance onward to Makeb, Oricon, Rishi and all that other stuff ahead.

Are you a sub? If so, you could do Ilum or Makeb since they're roughly the same in terms of XP. However, I do believe Makeb gives you more money (it's also a bit more tedious). If you want to follow the story in order then you should do Ilum, Makeb, Oricon, Rishi, Yavin.

Go to Makeb and don't worry about your equip. Just use the GSI Orbital Support Satellite station near the shuttle departure on the Makeb Orbital Station. It will give your experience gain and equipment a major buff that will help you to survive even with shitty green equipment.

 

If you strictly want to follow the story then Ilum should come before Makeb.

 

Edit: With all that good GSI is doing... Support Satellite on Makeb, Robot Battle Butler everywhere after 55... when can I defect to them?

My advice is to go to Makeb as soon as you're done with your class story.

 

You'll be 55 in no time and when you are, use basic comms to buy 55 mods. That gear will be more than enough to carry you through the Shadow of Revan expansion.

 

You can always do Ilum after Makeb. While its true that it takes place before Makeb story-wise, you basically won't notice it.

As much as I hate Makeb, the fact that the Rep final boss is so much more quicker to deal with then the Imp side makes up for it.

 

I think I'm almost wrapped up with my 6th 60 lol, this Scrapper Scoundrel was quite a long of fun to play, I just punch everything!

 

I'll reward myself by slowing playing through the Agent storyline, no spacebarring this time!
