I believe that many of the romancers secretly wish that BW would release a dating sim.

Elven Romanceable: Oh Inquisitor if you keep this up I'll definitely let you take me to the Mage/Templar homecoming dance!

Tevinter Romanceable: Stupid Inquisitor! I-it's not like I like you or anything! *blushes*

Dragon Age: High School!

You've got to be sure you max out your chosen Waifu's affection meter or else you'll lose to Demon High in the big game!

Make sure to workout to increase your maximum strength as well as study to increase your maximum intelligence in order to increase your overall attraction. Waifus don't like scrawny mouthbreathers.

Don't forget about the mission where you enter the Fade in order get your waifu a gift for prom.

Kind of of an off shoot of this topic, but I wonder if Bioware does focus groups testing how major plot choices will go over (to include LI) or if it is simply whatever the writer wants.

Anyone know? Because I'm guessing if its focus groups, given a finite number of LIs, the dwarf option is never winning.

I don't think bioware has a focus group testing. Mainly because focus groups usually need to spend, at maximum, 4 hours on giving their input and such over something, weather it be a movie or a ad or even a bar of chocolate.

But a game that can be played for 24 hours straight and not be beaten? How could one possibly focus test that without using in game people? More than likely, game testing and focus group work are rolled into one single entity, where the guys who catch bugs in the system and play the final builds also give their imput on the content. That would be one of the only feasable ways to do it.

Oh ok well that was my mistake. I thought a 'mancer' was someone who likes to pursue a romance in games, such as myself, not someone who will buy any game as long a it has romance in it.

So are 'Talimancers' people who only buy games in which they can romance Tali or something?

Yes I'm being difficult on purpose :3

Mancers are the weird people who do nothing but obsess over romances or a particular character to an insane degree.

At one point a Desire demon kidnaps your Waifu and assumes her identity, if your affection meter isn't high enough you get a bad end because you can't tell the difference.

As in, everything else in the game, the story, the characters who you don't plan on romancing, the setting, all of it means less to you than getting to bang.

Seriously, though, the day this thought becomes the majority, Bioware scrap the romance.

Oh, when I say 'liaramancer' I just mean 'someone who chooses to romance liara'. Just a case of different definitions in this case I think :)

The popularity of characters like Sigrun and Varric, for example, seem to indicate much of the gamership would be very interested in this.

Going by the forums, "much of the gamership" would be interested in romancing a mailbox, if the opportunity presented itself. ;)

hahahahaha this 100% correct

Commercially speaking, the day that thought becomes the majority it the day any sensible company says that under no circumstances will they scrap the romance.

But don't worry, I'm guessing aside from the chicken littles no one is entertaining that idea.

There's even a romance where you can romance a sister of the Chantry. There's a critical decision at the end of this romance arc, which is that the PC has to convince the sister to turn her back on the Chantry or support her decision to remain a sister. In either case, she turns down the PC, and the Chantry she worships at just happens to be the one that Anders bombs. A great tie-in to the rest of the DA series, if I do say so myself.

There you go! Finding a Qunari may be harder but hey, what's romance without some mystery (and glued on horns).

Of course!

Then of course there is the dangerous desire demon romance.

She starts out extremely Tsundere towards your character, and switches to Yandere if you give her the right gifts.

If you cheat on her or fail to invite her to the big dance you get a bad end.
