ME3- Shep teams up with Collectors to destroy all Reapers.
I'm probably, most likley wrong, it's far-fetched however at least im thinking of stuff.

Oh, I missed that. Can you paraphrase it for us?tommythetomcat wrote...
I've heard worse, someone posted a very detailed theory on the legacy forums that I tend to subscribe to.

I'll see if i can dig up the post, hopefully you can still search the legacy forums.
Found it, it was reposted by a troll but it wasn't changed in any way that I know of.

Chris: "HEY ALL YOU MASS EFFECT 2 FANS! We're coming out with some new DLC! Did you feel that Dr. Hart wasn't enough to satisfy your mad scientist craving? Have you ever wanted to fight a monster with the strength of TEN MEN and FRIKIN NUT BOLTS sticking out of his neck who is powered by FRIKIN LIGHTNING BOLTS? Then you'll LOVE 'FRANKENSTEIN IN SPAAAAACE!™'"

Anything is possible in sci fi, but I found strong evidence in ME 1 today that the Reapers are over 27 million years old. So imagine how old the Collectors would have to be. It's unlikely.
The Collectors are more likely a recent evolution of species that the Reapers find useful maybe even developing between the time the Protheans were wiped out and the present.

It doesn't add up, if they reapers are ancient it would mean that the collectors are ancient, which would mean that their technology should be way more advanced then what it is now. Collectors=indoctrinated.
It's possible, the collectors wouldn't be able to travel the rest of the galaxy for fear they could be caught, therfore they don't have the resources to advance ery quickly. They are still way more advanced than any other spiecies, besides when you think about it we don't really know anything about them. It's possible, but then again I also said its lame and I'm most likley wrong.

The reapers were the first technologically advanced organics in the galaxy; they became so advanced that eventually they physically merged with technology in a kind of singularity event (anybody read Ray Kurzweil?). They realized in order to sustain this existence they'd need huge amounts of energy and thus began the cycle of extinction, based upon their system of mass relays.
In spite of this, I think the Collectors are just pawns to the reapers, like the Geth in ME1.

I subscribe to the Collectors as Reaper builders theory, having foolishly thought I had come up with it first. It sorta makes sense what with Sovereign's talk of "Each of us is a nation."
When he says that, then I think about how the husks are being smashed together to make Reaper-like enemies it doesn't seem so far fetched that Reapers are the husks of entire nations of species around the galaxy. Maybe I'm just reading too far into his statement though

If they've been here for at least 150,000 years (minimum 2 cycle before the Protheans), they should have discovered every technology that there is to discover, and it would thus be a matter of building their army and destroying the Reapers.
Also, they could trivially trap Reapers in darkspace by blowing up the citadel with huge bombs.
