Producer on the movie gives an update on the Mass Effect Movie, says that it still 5-6 years away.
He says that it's a common concept in that universe that humans are the least developped and least trusted. It's an interesting mirror of our common conception about other species in which we are the aliens.
Interesting read. Also discusses future Metal Gear Solid movie and Uncharted movie

And Uncharted is cool. Will be great to have a movie adaptation.

That leaves plenty of time for the movie project to die the death it deserves.

And if the project doesn't collapse let's hope the world ends before then.

I hope it comes out and turns into another "it's so bad it's good" flick like Street Fighter with Van Damme.
I hope they have Mark Vanderloo portray Shepard and Mark Meer dub the lines.
However, I think Van Damme as Commander Shepard would be a great idea. I'm already loving it.

>implying the few remaining true humans at that date won't be living underground fighting a losing war against our robot/alien/mutant/something overlords and will be making movies

It already is lol. Announcing release date for a movie to be 5/6 years away means there's absolutely nothing going on with the project. Seriously, Avi Arad was a producer on some cool stuff but why does he even bother talking about Mass Effect, MGS or Uncharted movies if he's clearly not actively doing anything to get them made lol?Ravensword wrote...

And that is just for them to start producing it?
By the way, cool sign Isaac.

Think he said "it will be out in theatres in 6 years" but it doesn't really matter. With such a release date "given", it's obvious nothing's going on with the project.B.Shep wrote...

Forget about Marvel. EA will probably have Bioware finish second ME trilogy by 2019 loldreamgazer wrote...

What's with all the people wanting the movie to die? I want it to come out and be terrible. It'll be hilarious.
Either way, it's a win-win.

Money spent by Legendary on a ME catastrophe = Money lost that could go to a sequel for Pacific Rim.

I'd rather they just give that money to Guillmero Del Toro and let him go nuts on another good, original idea.dreamgazer wrote...
