I suggest using the ME film fund, whatever it is.The Night Mammoth wrote...
I'd rather they just give that money to Guillmero Del Toro and let him go nuts on another good, original idea.dreamgazer wrote...

What's with all the people wanting the movie to die? I want it to come out and be terrible. It'll be hilarious.
Money spent by Legendary on a ME catastrophe = Money lost that could go to a sequel for Pacific Rim.

Cool.
That leaves plenty of time for the movie project to die the death it deserves.

It's what we thought would happen in those "Beyond 2000" shows on Discovery Sci-Fi in late 90s ;Pbobobo878 wrote...
2019? Isn't that the year oil reserves are supposed to run dry, nuclear fusion is supposed to become a commerically viable energy source and Nasa is supposed to put people on Mars?

They are pretty much saying "this movie is screwed. lets delay it as long as possible"
Fast Foward to 2018....
"Dont worry guys. We only need 2 more years to finish editing it"
Fast Foward to 2020....
"We are done but we want to delay release until 2022 so we could release it as a 10 year ME3 anniversary present"
Fast Foward to 2022....
"Screw it. Just play the damn games"

If they stick away from Shepard's story and keep true to the roots of the series, something good could happen. You never know.

I'm not opposed to a Mass Effect movie because of the endings. Besides, if Mass Effect were filmed you can bet the movie ending will bear little resemblance to the endings in the games. Much of what went on in the original endings would be completely unfilmable.
I don't want to see a Mass Effect movie because I have little faith that Hollywood would give it the budget, writers, cast, and film crew that it deserves. Instead it would likely be made on the cheap, be written by hacks, acted and directed by Hollywood's C and D list, and capped off with bad CGI and special effects. Hollywood's track record with game-to-film adaptations does not inspire any confidence in this movie project.

Exactly. Hollywood wants a Mass Effect movie because it's already a recognisible franchise that can make big bucks from a cheap budget with a couple of well cut trailers and the big, bold series title font splashed everywhere.Han Shot First wrote...

Gosh, nothing like a thread full of people obsessing about something and everything telling everyone else not to obsess about it.
Sounds familiar.

Would only watch it if Tarantino made it, tbh
