You know what I love seeing? People jumping to conclusions on something that they have very little information about.

I also love it when people think one thing is bad then the whole franchise is ruined.

Because it's not your shepard? that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Even if the romance is Liara (and not Ash ) I wont care.

I am probably the only one who thinks the movie should be an original story set in the Mass Effect universe. There is no way a movie based on the games could ever be satisfying. Too much would have to be cut out and everyone has an unique vision who Shepherd is. There are a billion tales to tell from this universe.

The only thing I"m certain of is if Helen Mirren isn't cast as Chakwas, it's a travesty. Whenever I see her now, I think she'd be perfect. Plus, she has acting ability.

I would like to see the movie produced just to see protesters outside of movie theaters demanding that Shepard take a different romantic interest.

I'll give you the low down:

1. Not everyone who's cynical towards the film wants it to fail. They just think it will because Video Game films have objectively been critical failures since the the beginning. 

2. A lot of people are still very bitter about the ending to ME3, which tainted the other games in the series. They don't want to see a Mass Effect film, knowing what it's all leading up to. Granted the film can create a different ending, but then there are those who are just so bitter about the ending that "F*** Mass Effect) is their mentality.

Not so much that it's not going to be "my" Shepard but that it will more than likely will pander to the "straight white male" audience, there will probably be some kind of love triangle between Miranda and Ashely, I don't expect anything more than mediocre acting with characters that bare little resemblence to the actual members of the game (insert any man with a shaved head to play Sheploo here). Oh and it's going to be filled to the brim with explosions and cheesy action scenes. 

I really don't see a point in making a movie at all, the game itself is practically already a movie.

But hey, I would love to be proved wrong, but this is hollywood we're talking, they're known to disappoint when it comes to unoriginal movies.

Because if it does well then we'll just be seeing more cheap franchise cash-ins (all those aweful rushed games to cash in on movie releases are bad enough as it is)

2018-2019???

Really?? This movie is stuck in development hell based on characters from the current trilogy for many years now. If this movie does come out in 2018-19, we'll be playing ME games with a new character. Who knows, maybe the ME movie will be about the new character instead of Shepard.
