Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, was curious as to whether or not Dragon Age will support multiple endings based on in game decisions?

You can count on it.

EDIT: Or, more definitively, "Yes."

I'd be a bit surprised if they didn't include multiple endings.

I should probably clarify this a bit more -- A quote from David:

"Little nuances of endings? Sure, with the denumounts I’ve been writing there’s all sorts of variations on how you affected these various areas in the world that you visit. I mean that’s one of the things we try to focus on in terms of how you affected the world, how you affected your followers, what you sort of did. I mean the overall story, sure, you’ve got to deal with the Blight, it’s a heroic story, so the idea is that you are fighting the Blight, but really the story to players is what they get to do personally, how... when dealing with the Kingdom, how do their choices affect who ended up on the throne, or whatever - just as an example, those are the things that the player cares about, right? Whether they were sinister and got to influence events, or are they a hero and how are they treated as a hero, those sorts of things. So yeah, in that respect we’ve got endings galore. In terms of larger, like, the decisions having major major variations? Yes, we’ve got more than one there as well."

And a brief mention of this from an early preview:

"There are multiple very different endings, and the epilogue recognises many of your smaller choices as well, resulting in possibly hundreds of variations on the ending."

More than just 2, as far as I know. There has been some dev post on this recently, didn't say the exact number, but confirmed multiple endings. I guess some decisions will always appear in the ending, so there will be quite a high number of possibilties.

edit: so, the poster above me found the dev post I mentioned while I was typing :)

Lots and lots and lots if you include all the smaller side quest things as well as the bigger main plot decisions.

So, the endings will kinda be similar to the endings in Fallout, then?

so like every choice you make

makes the game say this person will be here to say this to you at the end

well

i guess thats many endings

but that also means some endings are gonna have some of the same

I think itll be somewhat like Mass Effect with two main decisions (ok maybe not two but a few) that decide your outcome and a bunch of smaller ones that decide the details of the Epilogue ala MUA 1

From my understanding of it, that seems like it'll be the case.

Not to tempt folks who are temptable - but on the old forums someone has pulled up the Codex entries for the game (claiming to be all of them in fact).

Posted 10/14/09 23:07 (GMT) by DavidSims

The codex can be very, very spoilery. I highly advise not reading them or you may spoil very major decisions in the game.

I think I will hide here and be avoiding many of the topics on the old forums now as people sift through the leaked Codex and make "guesses and speculations" on things that they've heard.

I am not ruining story plot. Did it once for Bioshock and it really bummed me out for the rest of the game.

I missed that one. Scary. I'm going to be avoiding that for sure. I did peek in the Loghain spoiler thread that was brought on from looking through the CC program files, though.
