I don't want text telling me what happened to the characters.

Based on a few magazine reviews I've read... the opening sequence (not the rendered cinematic) of the game was frequently called in these reviews as one of the best / most interesting opening sequences ever done in a game.

I'm more than certain we'll be actually seeing the characters from ME1 in ME2 and get to hear or see what's happened to them -- or if they died in Me1, reference will be made by other npcs

Aside from the spoiler filled opening sequence, which will involve some characters, you won't see anything. Unless you are starting from scratch, in which case you will get a brief overview.



The only way you will find out what happened to the characters between games is through other NPCs, or when you run into them yourself.

Are you talking about ME2 or ME3? If former, well from what I heard it's quite explosive beginning

I didn't, I merely telling him what I had heard about it, if it truly was what he was referring too, as for ME3, well as none of us yet knows what happens at the end of ME2 we can only but speculate what might happen both at the ending of ME2 and beginning of ME3
