I apologize in advance since I know this has been done before a lot. If there is another forum like this then the staff is free to lock it.

With that said I really want to be able to dual wield as a elf warrior again. Dual wielding with one handed swords is my favorite style from DAO and I want to be able to do it again. I understand why they wanted to do what they did in the DA2 but still. If I can't have that I would settle for rogues being able to dual wield longswords but I would still prefer warriors.

Anyone who has watched Spartacus knows that it can be done for a warrior. The fight scenes with Spartacus and especially Gannicus show case how warriors with two swords differentiate from rogue who dual wield daggers. I think one of the ideas that could make it work is if the warrior had a sub class that made sure that they could only wear medium armor so that they could have less fatigue and more speed.

This is of course just speculation. So please Bioware. Bring it back. :crying:

Finally I don't have to be a slow tortoise with a shield or a glass canon with a giant sword :D

This thread comes up every now and then, but yeah I'd love dual wield for warriors.

Running around with Starfang and Vigilance was epic when modded to work in Awakening.

I'm guessing the third core stat is 2 handed and the defenses will go physical defense, ranged defense and magic/mental defense. But YAYYYYYY. Dwarf DW axe warrior here I come

I think it's a rather boring option if Warriors are getting a 3rd talent tree.

And dual wielding is kind of silly, anyway. Particularly if it's with two full size weapons.

Why? Rogues have bows, crossbows, daggers (not counting bombs, traps and venom), mages even more.

I never play warriors in DA because they're too boring and there's little variation between the styles. With DW and the new arpion thingy, I might give it a try.

EDIT Also, on a similar note which is completely off topic, heavy armor is back for mages, hurray! More options are always welcome.

I'm happy they're bringing back Dual Weild Warriors and was disappointed that they removed it from DA2, Rogues in DAO used dual wields with full sized weapons if you wanted them to.

Can't see the harm in giving the option to those who want it :)

I consider this a good thing considering how many companions we have. If we have 3 warrior companions, weapon load-outs would be a good way to differentiate them.

Cassandra = two-hander
Unknown Warden beard guy = sword/shield
Other (maybe Chevalier guy with sword and lance) = dual wield

We've seen the bald qunari everyone is expecting to be the Iron Bull wielding the customatory qunari oversized machete. I'm guessing he'll have the axe as well and the reason they gave dual wielding back to the warriors was so that, should he be a companion, he can fight like the Arishok.

Yes and Cassandra is also a dual-wielder in Dawn of the Seeker.

But in the footage we've seen so far, she's always got a two-handed sword (even though she carries it mostly one-handed). I hope we won't have an overabundance of warriors in our party like in DAO, but if we do, I hope/expect their combat styles to at least differ in approach.

The harm is that I probably won't get pole arms or a ranged weapon.  But I probably shouldn't be such a dog in the manger

Hate to be the one to put a damper on things, but that doesn't necessarily prove anything.

After all it says 'Core Stats', and if I remember correctly, two crossed swords designated your Attack stat in previous DA games. So it could be a misunderstanding.

I want dual wielding warriors back as much as you guys do, but I'll remain cynical for now.

I'm happy they are bringing back a dual wielding element, as it's good to have more choice.

This too is good news, but alas from reading Ladyinsanity's notes from PAX, mages won't be able to use swords. Therefore I have assumed no arcane warrior function :(.

You didn't get those in DA2 where it was removed either.

Perhaps. But I like to expect the worst in situations like this. That way I can't be disappointed.

I want to dual wield two shields.
