I disagree with this actually; only if the lag is so bad you're rubberbanding or someone else is an incredibly quick killer. Otherwise it doesn't actually make that much difference. The last time I felt lag actually made a big difference was on Sirians host (quite some time ago now). I would shoot a target, there'd be a slight delay of the target just standing there, and then it'd be OnlyUseMeGI [Wraith] Victom. But he falls into the incredibly quick killer category.

Eh. Try playing from Asia on random American/Euro hosts. Shots generally take around a third of a second to register, and sometimes much more. Inexplicable shield drops bug me more than losing hits on enemies. Limits kit usage to relative tanks. I'm happy on the rare times I drop onto a Japanese host, though.

I don't know about others but from what I've seen we like min/maxing. The game we've played together you brought the Eagle vs our typhoons. If you get to max your manifest it's just gonna be a matter of how aggressive you play: running to spawns and the frequency you spam your powers.

I've been really only impressed by a BSNer 2 times. One of them's moved on and... we're all middling now lol.

Congratulations OP.

As for enemy choice, if you are various incarnations of Vanguard, for example, it makes a whole lot more sense for you to be focusing on mooks than something like Banshees. Then there is also the issue of wave budget and the utility of killing units that die rapidly and contribute proportionally more to the budget than the top tier units... so Abominations for example.

Generally only the more passionate will dedicate some time to go on the forums and learn the ins and outs of the game mechanics. Dedication goes a long way.

I consider myself a mediocre player, yet I manage to outscore some BSNers. When I played with some S.P.E.C.T.R.E's during Lodestar II I managed to outscore some of them. Of course, I was using the Drell and Salarian Infis.

Honestly, as long as I don't have to revive someone every 1 to 10 seconds, I don't care.

Yeah: fair enough. I kind of go for 'functional but fun,' which doesn't always mean big points. I still like my poor Eagle V.  Also, my aim was terrible and I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings in that match we played, for some reason. I swear I'm not usually like that. Or not like that quite so much. You guys played well.

Also, I always considered it might be bad taste using a 'Typhoon' when I'm based in an area hit by them regularly, but if you do it in Philippines, I guess I can, too.

There are(were) many great players outside bsn, some even don't know it exists. Also FTFTL wasn't anything special when I played with him months ago, dunno if he suddenly became an exceptional player.

I'd fall into this category of average when playing with fellow BSN'rs, it gets embarrassing fast! o.O

But when playing with randoms I always feel better about myself, I do quite well on the board.

Good point. I think we're safe; no one seems to call them hurricanes here. Americans in the SouthEast should exercise caution. I reckon Piranhas in South America is a faux pas, too.

For a while I wondered why the Angus was named after beef, and figured vegetarians should avoid it; then I realised it was the Argus, and it was fine unless you're Greek and scared of hundred-eyed giants. (Which seems fairly reasonable, come to mention it.)

Also, I figure people on death row must avoid the Executioner and Carnifex, but I suppose that's not a problem that surfaces too often. Hopefully?
