Pshh, if I get less than 300k in an uug pug, I rage uninstall the game.12323432543 wrote...
So is getting above 200k in a uug pug is the standard for BSN good? I should go back to tofu difficulty if that's the case.

I agree with you on better players having an unfathomable level of ability. There are 4 players on PS3 that I've played with who fall into that catagory, I sometimes just can't work out how the hell they're killing so quick.
What????
These guys must be on a different level of awesomeness, since whenever I play Gold duos with you I get outscored 2 to 1 and feel like a Bronze newbie:?
I know my place

I'm an average player. Although I was a bit better when I was playing the game on a regular basis about 10+ months ago.
10 months ago was 10k, so now it's like 2?

But as long as I can contribute to the game with doing objectives, revive others, rocket when neccessary and stay alive to extraction, i'm ok with being last on the scoreboard.
Somebody has to b a low tier bsn'er :-)

I know I'm learning, but I go down alot and spend time on some matches chasing squad mates that know where all the spawn points are.
Some matches I only kill one enemy and by the time I've found more, they are all dead and the wave is ended. xD
Yes, I'm not the best player but it's not gunna get me down & neither should you OP, just means we'll have more stories for fun times.

Right here buddy. I though I was hot stuff for a while (most of my matches were with boosters and scrubs infesting the gold lobbies) but I played a few games with some BSNers and realized there's a whole new playing field and I'm in the middle. Send me an invite if you're looking for a player who'll pitch in as best he can but won't rule the battlefield.

I consider myself a mediocre player, yet I manage to outscore some BSNers. When I played with some S.P.E.C.T.R.E's during Lodestar II I managed to outscore some of them. Of course, I was using the Drell and Salarian Infis.
Honestly, as long as I don't have to revive someone every 1 to 10 seconds, I don't care.
was still an impressive display of the wraith SI
Thank you. As I said, that used to be my go-to character for anything. Geth. Done. Cerberus. Done. Reapers. Please.
Note: Used to.

I would say I'm average, simply because even when attempting solos on Bronze I get synch killed on wave 11 & rage quit for 2 weeks. I don't much play with the heavier characters, have no love for the Drell as playable characters and won't attempt gold without a full team.

It is basically the same for me, but I am not learning much anymore since I have been playing since the demo. But that is besides the point.
I am a scrub, but an average scrub.

No question that reading this forum (and watching vids linked from this forum) has made me a better player. Great? no. Wouldn't even go so far as average. But definitely a better player.
Thanks to all the things I've learned here, I've managed to get 22/25 banners toward botb (for me it will be more like "stte" - "stubborn to the end"), maxed all my gear and rares and unlocked everything but a Typhoon in about 350 hours (got a Valiant II today - yay!). Learned to run the pizza, but I'm still working out the best key remapping to get reload cancel to work. Bronze solos are my "testbed" for trying out new gear and builds, and I've got just enough OCD to compel me to extract most games. I'm never going to give the l33ts a run for their money, and you won't see any videos on youtube from me about how to do anything relating to this game.
I paid $59 for this game, and I've enjoyed it immensely. Combined with SP time, it's about 10 cents an hour for all the fun I've had. As for N7 and CP, I don't think anyone will ever post that on their resume when applying for a job, nor will it be cited in their obituary. I've enjoyed playing with people from all over the world and this is what I do to relax (at least until the NFL season starts next weekend!)

Still, I have been playing since the demo, and while I won't amaze anyone I can usually play somewhat competently after all this time. Maybe.

I live the pug-life. I don't think I've ever actually gamed with a BSNer, so I can only judge my skill in relation to theirs from the yt vids and screenshots I've seen. Judging by that, I'd say I'm well below average by BSN standards. Pretty decent by pug standards though. Here's some context, should any care to make their own assessment...
Platinum: Absolutely HATE it. Only played it for that one community challenge (operation lodestar I think?). I did manage to top the scoreboard 2 or 3 times, but I've never been back.
Gold: I don't enjoy it and rarely play it. I used to get dropped in when looking for a bronze or silver game fairly frequently before they introduced the challenge system and fixed the matchmaking. That meant no consumables of course. I usually ended up high middle. When I do play it now, it's with a competent team from a silver pug--and I'll only use certain kits (Kroldier, TSent, BatSol, and the like). Pretty rare that I don't top in these games, and really rare to place below 2nd.
Silver: Soloed it once--on my first try--just to see if I could. Totally cheesed it with a Melee Kroguard versus Geth. This is where I hang out with my level 20's--or if I happen to run across a competent team on bronze before switching. It's a rare game that I don't top the board here.
Bronze: This is where I level up, and go to just relax. I test new builds/weapons out while soloing. Pointless to speak about score on Bronze. I solo multiple times a day and have used every class doing so. I've even done a few with level 1's--more by happenstance than anything else (usually while trying a different weapon out, just intending to fire a few shots, and then wind up just sort of going for it). I refuse to waste consumables or equipment while soloing.
So, in short, a total scrub by BSN standards. I don't say this to be either humorous or self-deprecating. I think it's an honest assessment. But, having said that, I think the pugs I game with think of me as pretty damned good. I don't think the "average" BSNer quite appreciates just how above average they truly are.
EDIT: added "don't" to last sentence
