Usually I opt for hard copies of my games, but this time I am considering purchasing through Steam instead.  If I am correct, getting the Digital Deluxe version nets me the Incisor Rifle and original soundtrack vs. the regular CE.  Is this correct?  Also, will I be able to use a completed game from a standard  (non-Steam) version of ME1 if I have the Steam version of ME2?

thats really annoying. I find it unfair that they announced a new edition only weeks before release and gave "digital" customers an unique weapon.

Actually I think the DDE has been up for pre-order since November...

Well, I just canceled my gamestop order and grabbed it on steam, no shipping costs or tax and I get to play it from day one, plus another weapon. I almost never check the digital deluxe versions as they normally have LESS. I hope this stays on the front page of the forums and a lot more people cancel. Gamestop is such a ripoff.

Yep. The only thing that was announced recently was that it was available on Steam. Direct2drive also had it a bit earlier. All this means is the EA wanted to prioritize their own store over other distribution services.

EA says that the regular collector's edition gets the OST as well, the Bioware sight says otherwise. Any mods want to clear this up?
