None of it happens to the protagonist, those protagonists aren't special people.

Not everyone spoils themselves with strategy guides, you know.
Some people, if they screw up, simply not that and go "Next playthrough I'll try something else"
you didn't need a guide for ME2 - sorry, but a little thinking and looking at your companions (and doing the loyalty stuff, which should be done anyway IMHO) was enough (got everyone out first try as i thought: well, who is a good technician and works alone best? - Legion (!) and: Who knows how to lead small teams and is a tough SOB? - Garrus! - Who can escort the crew back (because he is useless IMHO ^^)? - Jacob!) was enough IMHO
as for "good" endings:
yes please (IMHO it is different to the OP-Statement: It cheapens the experience, if there is no "good" ending possible at all...that wakes my "why do i even bother"-reflex and that is never a good thing (ME3 did that!))

Well if you have high intelligence ,charisma and wisdom you can avoide every (almost) trouble well only consequences of your choices are that if you go ax crazy physical god will kill you at second time when you meet it ,second consequence is being rude to anothers physical god (they are only few of them).
Wouldn't this be similar to the Mass Effect reputation system? Though from what you're saying it sounds like instead of just having high rep, certain actions are only available from good points in certain attributes vs. just having a general "persuasive" counter.

Same here, been wondering for a while. My Macbook with a Windows partition isn't exactly built for gaming though so I figured getting it would be a waste of time.Ravensword wrote...

So it qualifies as stories where "nothing unusual happens to the protagonist", the very thing you asked for.David7204 wrote...

Your Macbook, no matter which one you have, will easily run Planescape Torment, trust me.

That's just splitting hairs of how we define the word "to." The important point is, unusual things happen. The protagonist at the very least witnesses them. That's unusual in itself.

I've never played that game.. could you explain a bit?
Multiple ways to solve problems, diplomatic or coercion based problem resolutions along with violent solutions and having it up to the player to decide, consequences and reactivity to choices, endings dependant on player choice throughout game, etc.
Got my info from an article. Haven't played it myself.
