Pardon me if this has been covered already. I spent a while searching this forum, but couldn't find it.

I just got rid of the demon possessing Connor. I went to Redcliffe from Lothering, then went to the Circle Tower and secured the help of the mages rather than kill the boy or use blood magic. Upon returning to Redcliffe we sent Jowan into the Fade with the help of Irving and company. Jowan ended up forcing a confrontation with the demon and defeating it.

After the cutscene and a brief conversation with Isolde and Teagan, I checked my codex for new entries. The entries for both Isolde and Connor indicate that the former died to save the latter. Huh? Then who was it that just asked me to go find the Ashes of Andraste?!

Apparently the bug affects these two codex entries only. Isolde was present in the cutscene following the demon's defeat; the quest journal and the current loading screen text both indicate that Connor was saved with the help of the Circle.

Is there any way to fix this bug (using the console, for example)? Or is there a better way to report it to the devs?

I experienced that codex discrepancy on the Xbox 360.

Long standing well doccumented issue.

Lowest of low priority.

Odds it will be fixed before DA 2 comes out? slim.

So there's no user-side fix for it (using the console or toolset, for example)?

I got it with the PC version with patch 1.02a applied, btw.

You can make a mod to fix it, but I don't think anyone would bother. I've seen it too and it is weird, but it has no effect on anything else in the game so nobody really cares. If Bioware doesn't fix it, I'm sure it will get fixed in the "unofficial patch" compilations eventually.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do fix it eventually. This is after all the same company that was (if I remember correctly) fixing minor scripting issues in the NWN OC long after HotU came out.

Of course EA wasn't in the picture then ... but I've got faith in Bioware. Image IPB
