The game is not being rushed, that's for sure. I mean, a release for fall 2014 gives this game a HUGE cycle in comparison to the last two BioWare games, especially DA2.

We've just been bombarded with a ton of good news, and I (think) even found a blurry picture of the tactical camera!

Still, I remain weary, and something is bothering me. I really hope the game doesn't fail/flop/dissapoint/lack of what-ever-you-wanna-call-it, due to too much being added in.

Multiple customizable keeps, huge maps, four player races, C&C. It all sounds as good as sex, but will this be too much? Will it feel AWESOME, or will the butter be spread over too much bread?

Man, I've got my hopes up a little for the first time since ME3, and damn does it look like you guys have work your butt off for this, you can tell! But I'd rather have less in order to have more; than more to have less: quality over quantity and what not.

But so far, in theory, it all looks superb! So good one BioWare! Keep it up :)

No way to know how the game will be until it comes out. Expectations are almost always wrong, either a little bit or extremely so.

Id rather have the game suffer from over-ambition than lack of ambition.

I remember when they said they were unlikely to do anything as ambitious as Origins again, and how disappointed it made me. The lower you set bar the lower you're going to reach.

I worry they are trying to do too much for sure. My worry is for future games. It seems they just have too much to keep track of.

I will never blame ambition. Ambition is awesome.

EDIT: I'll admit I secretly worry about how story will hold up with all this emphasis on difficult, tactical and micro-managing combat and vastly expansive, interactable environments. Hopefully my fear is unfounded.

Reading these forums does make you wonder why anyone would ever bother making a game sometimes...

I don't think M3 is a good comparison. Or maybe we should talk about M3 multiplayer. And the result was impressing.

I think they are ambitious cause it is part of the leap from the previous generation to this current generation. That is a HUGE leap in terms of resources from both the company end to the technical end. On top of that they have established a realistic development cycle on top of working with very powerful technology. So yeah the ambition is expected

I will be happy if they are over-ambitious and truthful... My fear is too much hype that turns out to be false.

That was my disappointment with Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. They touted the new revolutionary idea of a Radiant AI. How all the NPCs were going to think and do stuff on their own. In the end, it turned out be the same old scheduling they used in Morrowind after all.

So as long as they deliver on their promises and not promise anything until its actually in... I will be ecstatic.

I, too, have thought this a few times.

I see ambition and a passion for a game they seem to love.  And I will never see that as a bad thing in games.

Yeah agreed. It looks like they're going all out for this game, and I'm excited as hell for it.

I'll wait a week after release, to see how reactions are. It looks great, but so did ME3 in my mind and that turned out nothing like I expected. So I'll wait.

Even if they over design it & end up streaching their resources too thin in the end?
Not saying they will, but this game seems bigger than ANYTHING Bio have ever produced. I want this game to be the dogs bollock's but if ME3 thought me anything it's that a bit of cycinism pre release never hurt anyone;)

They aren't being over-ambitious with DA:I. If anything they were vastly, vastly under-ambitious with DA2. BioWare's talent has always been better than DA2.

DA:I so far (especially after what I've seen today) feels much more like a full, content-rich, gameplay-rich BioWare title much as I expect from the developer of Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, and Dragon Age: Origins. DA2/ME3/SWTOR made me think BioWare's best days were behind her...DA:I shows me she still has some life left in her.

I don't get the M3 comparison. Its development wasn't at all ambitious since they streamlined, removed, rushed many things and not necessarily because of resources. This isn't at all what I'd call ambition.

I am more worried about the timeframe. ONE WHOLE YEAR!? that seems weird and unnecessary.

Have you seen the scope of this thing? One year is good and standard.

It will disappoint a LOT of people - because people cannot be pleased.

However - that is ultimately not a problem with Bioware - but with humanity as a whole.

If they didn't reach their mark of the things they're claiming - we can discuss in a few months. That's something that can be argued objectively.

The added races because of the extension. not the other way around. Working on it until the tail end of summer and releasing it early fall is good. But keeping it for a whole year is unnecessary.

Ehh...I don't know about the whole people cannot be pleased part because if the game is good then most will be satisfied.

Not to de rail the tread too much here but for me it was ME2 that screwed the pooch for those games, Over designed it withway too much meaningless Plots & Characters.
Thus leaving ME3 to do too much work for just one game.

All good things come to those who wait,if DA:I is excellent because of the extra time then I'm not going to complain.
