Finally got a chance to view all of these.

...okay, that looks pretty sweet. The section where you summoned an ice wall to block archers arrows and sequester off the enemy Mage was... I'm not going to lie, I said "oh, that is f***** sweet."

I'm upgrading my status from "skeptical" to "cautiously interested."

I'm probably wrong....but from what he was saying it sounds like there won't be pausing and issuing commands unless you switch to isometric view.

I'm not a huge fan of the isometric camera but I was ALWAYS pausing and issuing orders in DAO and DA2. I hope that's still present in DAI...It seems like a trademark of the franchise..

They showed some instances of pausing and giving commands in the rock beast fight, which was before the overhead camera was issued. So I don't think you're going to be required to use it if you don't want to, but still give out commands.

The only thing I don't understand is that of you don't use the tactical view, even if you use a talent, its name isn't shown on screen (for example, the role the warrior does is a talent called 'army roll', which name was shown when they used the TV).
While I don't particulare care about it since I'm going to use the TV all the time, it'd be nice if the talent/spell name is shown on screen even without using the TV, as it was in the previous games.

I like a lot that they emphasized the absence of level scaling and automatic health regeneration. A sense of adventure as opposed to detached level scaled combat scenarios that don't produce strategical consequences.

What's with the vector autoattacks though? From the video it seems you can dodge them.. by moving your character?

So you can zoom out, set some traps and so on.

Great but I still wonder how that's supposed to work with that action based gameplay. Other than a quick overview and moving the troops, I can't see it to work if you have to dodge stuff. Such a camera is nice but highly impractical if you need to react to certain attacks.

Yeah, that has me a little worried. We'll see how it all works, but I'm hoping if this is the case, the AI wi at least attempt to do this on their own, instead of just standing there dumbly until I take control of them and button mash for them.

i like the combat sistem but i have not much hype for the story/choices & consequences aspect of the game, and to me the latter is much more important
At least now i am curious

Wow. This is quite the change from the days after DA2 came out, when people were calling for him to be fired immediately.

Looks great! Had a bit of a chuckle when Cassandra beat open the doors. Reminded me of this exchange from Doctor Who (Silence in the Library episode):

[Donna kicks open a locked door]

The Doctor: Nice door skills, Donna.
Donna: Yeah, well, you know. Boyfriends. Sometimes you need the element of surprise.

Is there a way to sticky these so we don't lose them?
