Although I probably wouldn't care for any romance options without the Citadel DLC.

To be fair though, I haven't tried all the romance options.

Haven't tried any of the other options and probably never will. Although maybe I'll make a femshep for Garrus next.

I think she's got the best romance arc if you include all the DLC, and no shortage of content.

After the Citadel DLC, Miranda and Liara are so close it's tough to choose. But I'll go with Liara because of LotSB and that she's there all through ME3.

I didn't notice much of any Miranda content in the Citadel DLC. What are you talking about?

Copypasta from a post of mine in another thread:
My canon goes Ashley --> Miranda --> staying loyal to Miranda.
Honestly, I think that Miranda's romance is certainly the most real of the main cast, and has the most organic flow. She starts out skeptical of Shepard (even outright hostile), but she eventually opens up to him as they work together. Later on, she finds herself in need and asks Shepard to help rescue her sister. Seeing Shepard go out of his way to help her save Oriana (without asking for anything in return), Miranda learns that she can trust Shepard on a personal level. Eventually, Shepard cracks open her icy facade and figures out that Moranda is actually quite warm and loving to those to earn her friendship and respect.
Acknowledging that Shepard is one of the very few people who is on her level, Shepard intrigues Miranda. Despite being "normal", Shepard is still capable of doing things that even Miranda herself is incapable of doing. She is both envious of this and admires it in Shepard. Through Shepard, Miranda finds that her accomplishments ARE her own, in spite of her gifts. Shepard himself is a testament to this. Truly, Shepard (mine, at least, the way I RP him) considers his death to be the best thing that's happened to him, because it led to him meeting Miranda.
Miranda eventually finds herself falling for Shepard, and at first dismisses it as "blowing off steam" before a big suicide mission, but comes to realize that her feelings are genuine, and that Shepard is the first person she's felt this way for.
Of all the romances, I would say that Miranda's is the most rewarding. I love the development of her character along the romance path in 2 (it was kind of dumbed down and retread in 3 though), and her romance content in the Citadel DLC is fantastic.:

With Miranda however, I feel as if they skipped a critical part - making Miranda doubt Cerberus. While I do enjoy her betraying the Illusive Man in the end, I can't help but feel that there should have been some sort of build up that TIM isn't worth following. She's 100% loyal and unwaivering in all of her conversations and there wasn't a single moment of her thinking maybe this isn't the best option...o Ventus wrote...
Miranda, easily.

1. Prerelease, she was known as "the Loyalist" for a reason.
2. Her faith in Cerberus does end up wavering before the finale if you speak to her enough. You can hear in the tone of her voice that she doubts what she's saying. Say, for example, on the Collector Ship, when Shepard realizes that TIM threw them into a trap. Miranda says that there's no way TIM threw them under the bus like that, but it's very noticeable that she almost doesn't believe her own words.

Liara has the most scenes, but I feel her character is more stalker than true friend.

Depends on if you want quality or quantity. If Quality, Samantha and Steve have that emotional content in both their friendships and Romance paths (admits to never trying the Steve romance).

Playing with Liara as your planned romance, those scenes fit nicely. With anyone else planned, shes just being nosy.

That's my favorite romance to do of course, I hate all the characters equally, more or less. and romance in general.
Love is so unnecessary.

Was just saying that the scenes with Samantha and Steve have quite a bit of emotion/quality to them.

Sorry, I was on about Liara's scenes.

I dunno, it sorta seems like a romance with Steve is either gonna be rebound (if Steve initiates) or predatory (if Shepard initiates). Neither one of those is very romantic.
