If she is, then she is a rogue with a puckish personality that grew up in the thief underground.

If it is Sera, I like the design. Seems like exactly the type of buddy my Femquisitor wants in her party!

We've seen 2 different versions of Sera(the blonde mohawk-ponytale version as an archer and the black mohawk-ponytale version with daggers*) and neither version looked like that. This is probably a case of us just assuming someone in a random piece of concept art is important enough to be a companion.

A concept art half-shows a male elf dressed in what could very well be mage robes, but we have no idea if he's a companion or even in the game at all.

It may not be her final version, but I don't think it's a stretch to assume that she's meant to represent Sera, at the very least.

I thought the one everyone talks about in DA2 was an early re-imagining of Merrill or at least thats what I took from some blog post one of the artists had.

No, the elf in that video was an archer that looks exactly like Sera in a piece of Inquisition concept art.

not true we have seen two elves and there has been speculation that they could be Sera, the blonde elf actually looks like the survey leak Sera. 

As for the mowhawke character again it was just an assumption based on a character we know has at least been considered as a compainion, They could easily have changed her. 

the black haried one again could be a redeisgned Sera or another elf character.

You know, this art does actually does look a bit like Sera in the survey. Same outfit and hair color, just a different hair style.

You guys are getting sidetracked. What's important here is that this piece of concept art is worth at least 1,000 words of characterization.

How many scenarios can you imagine someone might use this gesture to describe?

"And then he says to me, 'Well, I swallowed the key, so you ain't gettin' it back.' Next thing I know I'm this deep in his entrails ...!"

or

"So my ma, she says, 'Sera, girl, it's time you learned about breedin' season—' and next thing I know I'm this deep in halla ...!"

My suggestion: Due to the fact that there are up to 9 (?) available companions, we will maybe have 2-4 elven companion options? Two Dalish and two "city elves" (both male and female)? So maybe Sera AND more is possible...?

Beautiful, charming scene, indeed. The elf does look like an ideal companion. I hope there is a companion that at least gives off that vibe, playful and light. Like Isabella but maybe a little softer, maybe a mix of Alistair and Morrigan's humor. Just my imagining~
That dwarf looks fun too, though!
Gotta love the icy glare from the short-haired brunette, though!

and statistically speaking we might even get at least one male li who isnt a massive party pooper this time around (watch it be the two most angsty moody ones in the cast ive jinxed it now)

My hope is they noted the popularity of the Citadel DLC and are making an effort to bring a few more bowls of Levity Fruit Punch™ to the doom-and-gloom fiesta.

I actually think that's not Varric (the dwarf)! Mostly because, well, he's as tall as Cassandra. I think it's actually the beardy Warden from the concept art. He didn't seem like the laughing type in the artwork, though... maybe taking the stick out of people's behinds is Sera's special ability tree.
