It certainly would explain why Cassy is less then impressed.... Or maybe secret intrigued and put out it wasn't her... I'm puting too much thought into this

I think it's all but officially confirmed that this blonde elf and the grey warden will be companions. Whether she will be called Sera like in the leak is another matter.

No, I think you're onto something. I love the idea of Cassy being this prim, stoic Lady Knight who's had to bury her passions for so long that she's like that stuffy english (though Cass is French, I guess ) lass who secretly likes naughty stories. Have this great idea in my head of a romance with her culminating in Cassy basically destroying you in bed because she's had to keep that kind of interest buried for so long.

I mean, we saw a hint of it in Dragon Age 2 when she comments a little breathlessly that Varric's description of the Champion is so 'romantic.' And if the Elven rogue *is* Sera and she's the foul mouthed kid sister like character, we need her there in the party to comment on how the Inquisitor and Cassy nearly woke up the whole keep with their antics! Cut to Cassy looking mortified while Sera slaps her on the back. "Nice work!"

If Sera and Varric are the archers, who will be the dual-wielders?

Also: how do we think she fits into the DA:I story? The Dalish elves are rebelling. That's cool. But the city elves and the Dalish elves haven't been bros in a long while. And she's probably not Dalish, since she doesn't have facial tattoos. I'd rather not rely on the survey, so, knowing what we know so far, what can we infer about her role?

Except Varric will almost certainly be the exception with Bianca.  Everyone else though like Cassandra and this blonde elf girl should be able to use whatever class weapons they want.  Warriors should probably be able to choose from 2H sword, sword/shield; Rogues between bow, dual wield; Mages staff, something else hopefully?

To me, a mage's weapons are their spells. So to me, this is saying mage's shouldn't be locked out of certain schools. Like Merrill couldn't become a healer because the creation school was locked out.

I'm pretty sure in the future novel "The Masked Empire " City elves will join the rebellion, at least , in Orlais.
I think she may be a Robin Hood kind of character , she's probably the boss of a group of city elves who just took advantage of the chaos around and started stealing , and making their own justice.
She might be a bit the Varric of DA:I , and she had a group of urchins spying and know everything going on in the poor districts of the main cities.
